As a 9 year old I watched the 1971 cup final and 'that' goal and celebration made me a Gooner. 53 years and counting, wouldn't change a thing. Thanks Charlie 😀
Im a Derby fan and il always be grateful to him. He was phenomenal and ive watched many games he played at Arsenal and wow amazing is an absolute understatement!!
Recreated by Aaron Ramsey against Hull in the 2014 FA Cup final in what would also end up being an extra time winner. Funny how these things go full circle. I was at the game and it's a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life.
He could cut through any defense and score with ease I'm only 28 but he is my favorite GUNNER ever he is simply amazing and could probably score with his eyes closed
I was outside Wembley trying to sneak in. The gate keeper opened the gates in anticipation of the crowd exiting. Me and a few mates ran up the stairs just in time to see Charlie George score the winner.
Not only was Charlie George an Arsenal legend, but he was also a Derby legend. He is my all-time favourite Derby player. He was like a conducter in that he could bring in other players to play at a different level. When I watch all the old videos of Charlie playing for Derby, he still gets me excited and out of my seat. Charlie, you were amazing. God bless you
Eddie Kelly scored the first goal in the final. The angle I was at in the other end, left of the goal, I could see it from there. He also scored a couple of great goals away to M City earlier in the cup, where he probably had his best game ever. In the mud, his long range passing, he dominated that game.
I met Charlie a few years back in a professional capacity and he was ace. A little fact I learned whilst researching our former players that Charlie actually won The UEFA Super Cup with Forest In 1979. He only made two appearances for them.
Granted he was a part of that, however even then his career never quite hit the same heights as before. Whilst he won the league at derby, he was only there for a brief period and his time afterwards was all over the place
God your facts are totally incorrect!! John Radford exchanged passes with George for the Wembley goal!! Eddie Kelly scored the equaliser!! Utter rubbish

I'm a Middlesbrough supporter who grew up in awe of this man. A golden age, and that biblical goal celebration was iconic. Good on him.

Absolutely loved meeting and getting some pictures taken with him during a tour of the stadium, really nice guy.
Charlie George is an Arsenal legend and who can ever forget that great goal he scored against Liverpool when we won the Doubles in 70/71 season.
It took a deflection.
😴😴😴😴@@tomthomas9708
@@tomthomas9708so what, it was going in, what a stupid statement.
Off the North Bank on to the pitch, my dream.

Charlie George is a famous football player.
I support Aberdeen and Inverness CT in Scotland.
Good post, sorry to be pedantic but in the '71 FA Cup Final he exchanged passes for the winning goal with John Radford and not George Graham.
No worries, thanks for letting me know, glad you enjoyed the vid

Haven't seen too much of him tbh😄 Shame it ended like it did but still massive respect
Surprised you hadn't as an Arsenal fan

That’s so cool you met him, he must have a few Clough stories
@@afcfinners Him and his pals were half pissed….
The actual inter passing which led to the 1971 Cup Final goal was between George and Radford not Graham
Had his best years at Derby.
75/76 Superb Season! 👍 👏
Eddie Kelly scored in the final not Graham and John Bradford passed to Charlie george
I wonder what Charlie thinks of Stan Kroenke? Another great video Finners. Like, comment, and subscribe to support the channel everyone.
I’m sure he’d speak his mind about him a lot more if Kroenke wasn’t his boss…
@@afcfinners Wouldn't we all.

He won the English title ar Derby lol lol ... yeah his career went down hill after leaving arenal lol
Granted he was a part of that, however even then his career never quite hit the same heights as before. Whilst he won the league at derby, he was only there for a brief period and his time afterwards was all over the place
He never won the league at Derby , his first game for Derby was charity shield against West Ham and derby won 2-0
Made a good contribution at Derby.
