Kind of wish the U.S. Open Cup was held with high prestige. Gets you a spot in CONCACAF Champions League these days and most MLS sides don't care too much for it. Cup competition running since 1914 I believe it is. Love the FA Cup.
@@afcfinners yeah. In the 1913-1914 season they started the National Challenge Cup for football here, it's been running every year ever since. Only COVID the last 2 seasons had postponed it. $300,000 prize for the winners with a spot in Champions League. Obviously at that time it started, there wasn't much professional football going on in the country but yeah.
@@afcfinners I feel like the lower league sides take it more serious. Since we have a close system and you can't get promoted into MLS, only way to play in a CONCACAF tournament is to win the Open Cup.
A year late to the party but still a grateful American here; It's easy to find a lot of FIFA playthroughs and modern commentary videos, but a lot more difficult to find quality historical pieces. Keep up the great work. 👍

Lost of great storys hear, but I think the fact that Arsenal didn't win any of the early Fa cup finals to being the club with the most final wins is quite amazing 👏🏼👏🏼
@@afcfinners There is one thing I dont like about the FA cup today ,its not having the semi finals at neutral grounds , there was something magic about the older semis
@@marineboy1964 I agree with you, you want to save Wembley for the big occasion. Sadly I don’t think it’ll go back now due to the money the FA generates from semis being at Wembley

@@jldch26 yeah I hope they introduce promotion & relegation at some point, one of the key changes needed to boost the league

You can choose for one of the above gifts
Shame that modern fans get it conflated with the Carabao / League cup
The F.A cup no longer exists. It has been totally destroyed.
Coming h😂me one day
It should have many more views, keep up the good work!
