You mentioned these mats repel insects. Would they work to keep bugs away from food? Like walls for a kitchen?

Muito difícil e trabalhoso. Por isso que custa um pouco mais que as esteiras daqui, por que da muito trabalho de fazer e é manual. Mais vale muito.

For one day old pandanus leaves, it has really gone light in colour. Here in Fiji where we use similar leaves for weaving mats and baskets and a lot of handicraft, it takes about 3-4 days before the leaves loses it's green colour and become light in weight and then it can be ready for use. They must have a different variety.

Depends on how well u take care of it .dont always let it get wet or dirty..always fold it up after ur done using n store it somewhere good it's best if u keep using it cuz letting it sit in ur house for like months will encourage insects to come over n decompose it.. getting it wet all the time will also wear it down ..had mine when I was younger and then replaced some years back in 2013 right now it's old but still in top conditions
