Today I stumbled upon this concert again and... I can't believe it's already 7 years since it happened. This whole concert happened 7 years after 808s was released and at that time it looked oh so long ago. And apparently this concert is now in the middle of the timeline between the album release and today. It's really hard to grasp how fast the time flies. How much has happened in Kanye's life and in every one of ours lives too. And especially, how that Pinnochio Story freestyle hits ever harder now. He really might not be able to "work in this town again" and deliver us performances like this. Brings an honest tear to my eye.

I got dumped when this album came out, and I thought it spoke to me then. Years later going to another break up and I find this performance. I’m thankful
I was there and I never knew it was filmed, this is my first time watching it. You went knowing the album and loving it, but it transcended any sort of expectation anyone could ever imagine being there. Having a passed family member who deeply effected my own art, this really hit home. This felt like the ultimate grief and ultimate catharsis.

On rehearsal day, the original concept was that we were suppose to walk up beige staircases with no railings while wearing heels, PLUS the coverings we were wearing were supposed to be wet [idk..Kanye's concept]. However, all the girls complained bc it was going to be dangerous for us to do that and we were not getting paid like that. I actually didn't care bc I was going to be on stage with one of my favorite rappers. I even took off from a crappy job I had at the time for 2 days, because how many chances would I get like this??
