I'm sorry, but this doesn't seem to work - their voices clash and you get a very discordant feel. The song itself seems to tell of how love blossoms even when the world around you is in chaos, dystopian even. Peter Blegvad's original version is more deeply instrumented and this chaos comes through set against, and in contrast, his vocal carries the sweet melody through the chaos the lyric seems to suggest.
I really don’t like this version of the song. Their vocals are out of sinc which makes for uncomfortable listening and the harmonies are lost. Dave Stewart and Barbara Gaskin’s collaboration on Peter Blagvad’s song is really wonderful, this is not.

I had the same feeling. I believe it is on purpose, but it is uncomfortable to hear, like something unnatural.
