Enjoying the series - its cathartic watching you go through the same journey and progression most of us in the FGC have done at some point. Great goal as well. Challenging for sure, but not impossible by any stretch of the imagination if you stay comitted.
You popped up on my recommended after probably watching Brandon for my coffee addiction, I clicked since I knew I recognized you! Crazy how my hobbies intersect with each other
only 2 min in but holy every word is so damn relatable - never failed so much at anything before but something about that is so damn exciting. just bought ggs can’t wait to try it
Knowing what to practice makes a dramatic difference in how long it takes to improve. One of the biggest pitfalls for someone who's new to fighting games is focusing too much of their attention on their combos first. It is okay not to have optimal combos. Even basic ones will suffice. Very successful FGC players like Justin Wong, Gamera, and Punk are known to have bad combos. So, how are they always successful? Fighting. Game. Fundamentals. They've honed their basic fundamental skills to the best of their ability, and these fundamentals can transfer across most fighting games in general. If you'd like, I can drop a playlist of fundamental videos that I've managed to scavenge across TH-cam upon request. I review them myself upon occasion as a refresher despite having some success in FGC brackets myself. Keep up the content! Good luck on your journey & @ EVO Vegas!
I love everything about this I appreciate the resources and would dig anything you would recommend Definitely noticed that about a lot of high high level play. Less set piece combos and more tactical bursts of moves and reads
@Jarod.mp4 th-cam.com/play/PLoKhX5L1ah07D3Ogfhmjie3GtdNPb-63m.html Here you are, my friend! Don't forget to analyze your losses in replays and note down anything that gave you trouble and solve it in the lab! Ask questions to yourself or others, be as specific as possible. Think about where the "losing" started to occur. It can be as something as small as "walking backwards toward the corner too much".
I also started on Ram, let's goooo. Good luck at EVO, my goal was also to get out of pools at my first major, I got a burrito and hopefully you do too 😂
@@Jarod.mp4 hope you enjoy EVO! I will advise to bring a water cooler if you're planning on staying at a hotel because most rooms don't have a fridge for free 🙂
Let it be known, I was here before Jarod became an EVO Champion
saving this for later

I’m so locked in
I hope you get some good practice with pros. It's gonna be a tough road, considering the time limit you have made, but good luck anyways.
Thanks! Going to try my best to get good prep in, appreciate you coming thru
First!
you keep nailing it!!! TY
I'd recommend focusing more on learning and less on winning.
yeah absolutely, learning is the ultimate goal. winning is the reward
This video sounds like I've heard this speech before.
Lol hopefully in a good way
