Five Minutes for the Rest of your Life is a Scripture memory and meditation podcast based on the practice of Lectio Divina and the educational philosophy of Charlotte Mason, an educator of the Anglican tradition from the turn of the 20th century.
If this is your first time joining us, welcome, I’m glad to have you here.
Currently, each day we will have a brief introduction and meditation on a short selection of Holy Scripture.
On the first reading, simply listen. On successive reads, quietly say the words along with me. In the spaces between readings, simply sit in quiet reflection on the word of God that we have just heard.
In the future, we will add one new verse a week and then review other verses throughout the week.
May the Lord be with you as you taste of His feast, one bite at a time.

--About Life Along The Way --
I came to the end of what contemporary Christianity had to offer - my choices were agnosticism or to find something deeper. I felt there must be something out there that was relevant to our work-a-day lives; something that could embrace both mystery and truth; something that could make sense of the experience of the highest forms of art as well as scrubbing the bathroom toilet.
I get glimpses of that way every now and then.
I am an Anglican priest working on the South Texas border, a spiritual director and chaplain, a small business owner, an artist, and someone who has struggled with spiritual doubt for much of my life. I work with people around the country as they explore matters of ultimate concern. I enjoy looking into things, learning about them, and reporting back what I find.
This channel is about all these things and my generally unsuccessful attempt at offering a compelling expression of a Christian life lived along the way of Jesus.
