Thanks! I even applied two of the nuts, purchased new wooden seat, purchase a new plastic seat. Heck, your are an angle to share this information. I just order the kit from Amazon. The makers of the toilet should have enclosed this kit with their product, because they know that this issue of gobbling or loosening of the seat happens. It would have save me a lot of head ache of buy more toilet seats, extra nut, etc. (smile).

I spoke too soon. I used these washers and the next day, I had the same problem; a sliding toilet seat. I next even tried 4 washers; 2 on the top, and 2 on the bottom, to no avail. I finally bought ANOTHER NEW TOILET SEAT, BUT A DIFFERENT BRAND. AND THIS NEW ONE HAD NO PROBLEM! I think it has to do with the stoppers on the underside of the seat. The first seat had thick BUT SHORTER stoppers, whereas, this new one has long thin stoppers that reach from one side of the seat to the other. NO MORE AGGREVATION, but thank you. I now don't even need the washers!

been there, done that. using these washers, it works much better than not having it installed, but still has the same problem, just takes a little longer to start wiggling again. i found that the bolt is the real problem. after it started to wiggle again, i tightened it down a little more than before and within a short period of time later the bolt head sheared off. i get why they don't use metal hardware, but you'd think they could come up with some type of plastic/nylon bolt that was more sturdy. i'd like to know what the difference is between the toilet seats that i grew up with and those of today? growing up thru early adulthood (and i weigh the same now as i did back in my 20's - actually i weigh i little less, so i know it's not a weight issue), i never had to mess with tightening the toilet seat. now, i've got to tighten / replace hardware every year or so.

For real, I never had this issue with the older ugly bastard toilets. As soon as I had the glacier bay push button flush toilets installed I'm now on the floors every other month tightening the shit out of them and then If I even just as much as sit on the top of the lid to watch my daughter in the tub one slight movement and the whole thing is just loosened up again. I'm gonna buy these today and just put them on all 3 toilets.
