Ippo has a lot of great rivals, but Sendo will always be his best. I've watched the whole anime series twice through, and the fights against Sendo are always the one that sends the most electricity through me.
it helps alot that ultimately ippo and sendo are the same just two guys who want to win want to challenge themselves ofc you see that less with ippo but im the ring he's another guy and ofc the dempsey roll his go to technique is just amazing can't get enough of him building up plane engines roaring then the fury and flurry of punches sendo's dempsey roll was particularly nice really when i started to realize just what ippo was capable of based of a 1920 made technique
@@Nausicaaaa yeah that's a pretty good point, however if you really think about it Ippo, lost his dad to the high seas, while Sendõ lost his dad to fire. Sendõ was the head of a gang while Ippo was a victim of bullying. They really are just two sides of the same coin

For me Hajime no Ippo wins best anime ever made in two categories best shounem best sport anime And I know better comedy, but Hajime is pretty strong in that category too
0:20 I really hate when the ones making the subs feel they have to flatten everything for some reason; if you know anything about the show or Japanese speech styles, you know that Sendo here isn't talking like someone from, say Tokyo. It's an establishing character moment, for crying out loud! Something like "How come you're so tense? The match ain't 'till tomorrow." would get the message across much better, in my opinion.

That ost brings back so many good memories, and not just from the anime. It reminds me of the ridge racer soundtrack which is super important to me.
Really hope that we get to see a new season of Hajime no Ippo in the near future its been a decade since the last season came to an end
