Could be one of the Best Streets if BKK pushed for it! Would be several billion but would be worth it! Making the ChongNonsi a Walking Street for Pedestrians and Cyclist! Expanding Redoing the Canals for public transportation up and down the street!
visit whlle you can. That house sits on a multi-billion dollar plot. Look at Hemminways, the Singha House in Montree opposite GMM Grammy, the former British Embassy building. All historic houses to know its fate
When this house was vacant, semi-abandoned 40 years ago, it was open for anyone to enter. I was a student back then and I went there to just hang around on the grass with my 2 school friends. WE SAW GHOSTS THERE, 3 of us.
Awesome video,,, love getting this type of local expat content that anyone visiting BKK could go and enjoy... I too have passed by on the BTS wondering the history of such a beautiful colonial building....
I just love colonial architecture in Thailand, this one is in the neoclassical style, beautiful building.... The mansion was built in 1888, during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), for Luang Sathonrachayut (Yom Pisolyabutra), the wealthy Chinese businessman and government official.

Very nice to hear the story about this house on Sathorn . I’ve see it many times, but now I know the story about it. Thanks. 🙏
Super weather, super streets, super Bangkok
Took a photo of the building in January, thought it’s an embassy 😅😅 great building. Hopefully they keep it 😊🤟🏼👍🏼🇹🇭
That vid makes me love Thailand even more. Saving the house considering it’s juxtaposition is wonderful. Thanks
May have to check that place out when I'm in BKK next year!!
What a cool place, never been there.
0:35 - wish she would turn around and show her face 😢
Great place Jeroen, i was there in the courtyard for some amazing cocktails and cakes, so tasty and amazing views!
That and the Blue elephant house just around the corner are the same colonial style.
It is a lot bigger then it looks from the front.
Another great one. Soviet Embassy until early 90s, then Russian.
