  • I guess you don't know Borneo Jungle Girl Camp (or Trus Madi Entomology Camp) in Sabah (Malaysia). But all the local bird and macro photographers know this place as one the best places to see special insects and birds of Borneo.
This Camp is located about 1,170 metres above sea level and surrounded by beautiful montane (highland) rainforest and mountain range in Nuluhon Trusmadi, a fully protected forest reserve in Keningau with a size of 747 sq. Kilometers. Even if you may not into wildlife, you would enjoy the cooling temperature and fresh air of highland. A cup of hot coffee or stomach-warming steamboat will perfect the experience.
Borneo Jungle Girl Camp (or Trus Madi Entomology Camp) is famous for sighting of jewel beetles and Borneo endemic birds such as Bornean Pitta, Bulwer’s pheasant, Bornean Leafbird (Chloropsis kinabaluensis) and Bornean Flowerpecker (Dicaeum monticolum). Some of the birds are really easy to photograph as they always visit the fruiting trees near the Camp.
