    I dunno if it's just me, but I love the Bubbling sounds of Air Driven Filters. It gives the Fish tank more vibe.

      I’m the complete opposite. I hate the sound lol. That’s why I always use HOBS or get a tank with built in filtration.

    When I owned an aquarium store I always used two nets. I'm always surprised to see stores using one which I think stresses out the fish more.

    Hey Jason I'm just curious, is it not a bad idea to pour water (with fish) from a quarantine tank into a display? love your videos, thanks for the tip.

    • @PrimeTimeAquatics
      @PrimeTimeAquatics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. If the fish have passed through QT, the QT tank should also be ok. That being said, if you want to take the water from the tank they’re going into that is not a bad idea either.

    I've also used my hand to gently push the fish into the net. I feel I have better control that way. But same concept.

    I am horrible at catching fish - I'm going to try this 2 net method. The mollies in particular outsmart me most of the time! I need to get panda corys out of my 60 gallon, which has a big ol' driftwood construction in the middle. I really don't want to take it down but I think I'm going to have to.... Well, I wanted to add some new plants anyway, that's a good excuse, right? ;)

    Come on jason uma teach u something here for a change, 1 net, i used to do it hard and fast but found sneaking up behind real slow guiding them to the corner or glass then slowly raising them to the top boom done less stress on the fish 😂😂 awesome video sir

    This is great timing I’m just about to have to catch 23 baby jewel cichlids that are 1-1.5 inches. I would have separated them smaller but I’ve read story’s about males attacking the females if they get takin out to early I guess thinking they’d been eaten😂

    Every net I find in pet stores has a closely woven net. Makes it hard to move the net around.

    Using as big a net as possible, while not losing general maneuverability is key. I spent too many years using small nets.

  • @rosemarydudley9954

    I strip out all stuff out from my wcmm's 35 gallon. Then hose out water to about 3 inches deep. Catch them in a net, including the fries. Then remove the fake grass - so many babies hide in there. Clean everything with VERY DILUTED bleach, rinse and put it all back. Takes me about 5-6 hours. (I do like a job well done) This gives me a chance to remove all those horrid bladder snails too.
    P.S. My local Maidenhead Aquatics was more than gratefull to receive about 50-60 fries, free of charge.

    🥺🐟I believe my Beta has NITRATE poisoning while I was in Hospital . I have set up a small 1 gallon quarantine tank all the water levels are great now . He is just not eat or swimming , just laying at the bottom kinda slopped to the side but doesn't swim sideways . Also color is not good . Should I add some aquarium salt and how much for 1 gallon and should I do anything else ?
    ps . No signs of fin rott or any visible signs of anything else .
    Hope to hear back from you
    Thanks 👋

    • @PrimeTimeAquatics
      @PrimeTimeAquatics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually nitrate poisoning doesn’t happen until nitrate concentrations are in the 100s of ppm? If water quality is ok now I wouldn’t add anything.

    Fish herding is one of those things that pit the fishes escape instinct against our determination to catch them. It can be easy or difficult...depending on the catch method. I am a big proponent of draining down the tank in order to make their capture easier. I do think that kuhli loaches have the monopoly on escapability though.

  • @theevolvingtank

    I remember what a nightmare it was catching small community fish out of my 400G. I wonder I could've just replicated your method with really big nets lol. I had to drain down the whole thing first.
