I went to Seattle with my family last summer. We did the Seattle underground tour. It was quite interesting. After the Great Seattle Fire of 1889, city officials built a new city on top of the old destroyed one. The tour takes you into different old rooms underneath the streets. J.J. the next time you go to Seattle and you have time to kill, I highly recommend you do it.

Seattlite here. Love your videos and articles. It was great to see a unique and more satirical approach to my city. I’m honestly just glad you didn’t lose your passport again.
Quick tip. The Cascade Train leaves from Vancouver and drops you off in downtown Seattle (or Portland if that’s your thing). Might be faster and the views have to be better than asphalt.

I find it ironic how when I crossed the boarder from Detroit to Windsor as an American it was harder to get back in my home country than it was to leave to another. They said I was “suspicious” for some unexplained reason and did a full body search. God bless America.

The train is less stressful, they do everything at pre-clearance except pick up the customs declaration there. When you go US to Canada, usually it's the Canadian side that's unfriendly. But you don't stop at the border on the way to Canada.
I've only been bag checked once, and that's because I was being too honest, but never in the US direction. They don't check anything on the way back otherwise.

I love Seattle! My three must-do's:
    1. A tour of the Seattle "underground"
    2. Observation deck of the Columbia Center (must be on a *clear* day, so you can see the surrounding landscape. I didn't go up the Space Needle; whichever one you do, don't bother if visibility is low, or you'll just have J.J.'s lackluster experience)
    3. Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park (museum)
    Honorable mentions:
    - A friend I was with absolutely loved the Fremont Troll (unrelated, there's also a statue of Lenin nearby, of all people)
    - Eat piroshkies from Piroshky Piroshky. They are the best food I have ever had. The Columbia Center location--if open--should be far less busy than the Pike Place Market location.

Funny thing is. Seattle and Vancouver are kind of famous for being the biggest cities on the pacific northwest which are kind of famous for the Totem Poles and natives. Even tho you wont find that many. Most of them are in Stanley park in Vancouver and some other native architecture in the surrounding islands.
But now that i think about it. Seattle isn’t actually that interesting. Only the Space Needle is interesting.
Maybe Vancouver is a bit more interesting because you can do more in that area. Like nice hikes in the pine covered landscapes. Totem poles, orcas, Gastown etc.

I actually went to Canada for a few hours yesterday. I gotta tell you I wish I would have had more time there, especially considering how far I drove to get there. It was still pretty cool and I hope yo make more trips to Canada.

kindersuprise eggs were allowed in sometime in 2017. We also have something called a wonderball which is a chocolate ball with candy inside which were sold sometime in the early 2000's but were discontinued and brought back when kindereggs were introduced.

One of these times you should tell us in advance when you’re coming down here. As a Seattleite, I can tell you this town is chock full of people who like the same kinds of esoteric stuff you do. The Space Needle is better on a sunny day. A better value is the observation deck at Columbia Center. Fun fact: it’s next to the recording booth of a local Christian radio station, so you have to be quiet while you’re there. At least that’s how it used to be.

It's funny, because I grew up in the Seattle area, and have barely seen any of Vancouver at all lol I've been there all of one day, most of which was spent in my hotel

Welcome to my hometown! I used to live in Vancouver BC way back in the late '70's and early '80's till we moved down here to Seattle. Glad you caught us during our good weather ROTFL! XD

Next time you come to Seattle, I can show you around! Jimmy John’s is great, but there’s better food to be found. Some of my favorite activities in the city include watching the yearly salmon runs/migrations and catching crabs off the docks with some old rotten tilapia.
