I totally agree the metal health system in our country is well and truly broken. The demand outstrips what help is available. My son needed some counselling and it took 4 months to get to see someone. My work colleague had a breakdown and was turned away unless she was suicidal there was no help for her. Until you need help you don’t realise the help is not there.

Joel Cauchi fed his demons rather than keeping them in check. I know schizophrenics who remain on medication life long and won't harm a soul. Joel fed into his demons, his insecurities and jealousy and frustration. So he travelled down from a rural town into a upper middle class area of sydney full of happy successful people and dragged them into his world of misery. He allowed his worse instincts to run wild so he died a worthless excuse for a human, at least he couldn't take the much higher value away from his victims. May they rest in peace and may he be forgotten.
