Night shifts are not healthy if they don't fit your circadian rhythms! How do I know? Ten-plus years of hospital work with rotating shifts can be hard on the body and the mind. It wasn't debilitating but it was not fun. My rhythm was for evenings (3P to 11P). I was happiest with that shift. It was the best fit for me. My wish for you is that you find a part-time job that fits you. I happened to like the bright colors but I also loved the conversions. You can take whatever you have and make it beautiful. I still say "Ceri the Magic Crafter". TFS 💖💖💖
Thank you Susan. I’ve always worked weird shifts so my sleep pattern has never been good but I’m now accepting that if my body needs a rest I listen to it and take a nap……..but it’s time to get away from a night shift job.
Ceri , Thank you for sharing your life with us. You’re human and us humans struggle. Sometimes it helps to just share. Anyway, I love watching you gel plate. Please keep it up! Hugs ❤
Ceri I so appreciate your willingness to share some of your private life with your subscribers. And I love, love, love your videos. Please keep them coming.
For me, less water on the plate is the key to using brushos. Your papers are beautiful!! I wish you every success on getting a part-time daytime job. I think you are 100% right about embracing our challenges. I see on an angle, have cerebral palsy, and a seizure disorder. I used to be totally hung up on all the imperfections in what I make. I let that go most of the time now. I enjoy creating more when I am not belittling myself
Another great video Ceri. The paper after the one you felt looked Christmasy, I thought it looked like the northern lights. I really like how you’re willing to try just about anything! Looking forward to your next video.
Love watching you play and create. I loved the vibrant colors of thr brusho, but for me it is all about bright. 😊. Your papers are beautiful. Thank you for sharing your creativity. ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much Heather that’s very generous of you, I’m off to my craft store next week to purchase some dark coloured Posca pens for my doodling video projects and this will enable me to buy a pack of them and not just one or two individual pens.
Daniel, the initial outlay may be expensive, but bear in mind that they will last you a lifetime. Seriously, a little bit goes a very long way. Cheers (not affiliated in any way). 🙂
I really love how these turned out. Try doing the brusho's straight onto the paper and only light water mist to begin with. You will get a blooming effect and less mess. You only need the tiniest amount of the powder. Practice a bit on some spare paper. Also, I just had a thought. If you stamp images with embossing ink and use clear embossing powder and do the brusho's over that, it might have a really nice look.
Great video Ceri! I dont have any brushos but I enjoyed watching you use them. Looking forward to your play with alcohol inks. I appreciate you and appreciate you sharing your life with us. Good luck in finding a part time job that better suits your needs! .
I really appreciated you sharing the struggles you've had and how you've supported your home and art. Also really enjoyed your play time with the Brushos and how you improved each of the papers!
Ceri I love all your videos, I brought a gel plate a year ago and I have yet to use it, because I had to save up to buy it l am afraid to render it 😅, I would love some videos from you on how to take care of it, storage, and really appreciate it to have fun like you, and I really like your life stories it helps my mention state, this year l have lost many family members and I am just trying to get back into a happy place 😊, so thank you 😊 for all you have done in this community of Art😊😊😊😊, try for the bakery job, you are warm and gifted share more of you to this world 😊😊😂
Thank you and I know how you feel I’ve lost 14 family members and friends over the last three years and it tears you apart. I honour them by being strong and moving forward. As for the gel plate, earlier this month I launched a video and there’s links in the description box of it that you’ll find useful. th-cam.com/video/rV9Pbkwo5pI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=g4T_B7e7Q5x7A6j9
I have a different type of a few of these sprinkle colors. But i just sprinkled on the paper then sprayed. So hey a new idea is Lways fun. They came out beautil as always.😊😊
Another great video, Ceri! I think we all became aware of Liquitex transparent mixing white from a PM Artist Studio video as Patricia used it and that was the first I ever heard of it. I, too, ordered it right away as I KNEW it would be something I would want to use often. This was a great lesson for me, as I've only bought Brushos in my favorite colors as I find them a bit pricey. My plan is to use the greens and blues I've bought, with walnut ink crystals as there is another brand that contains walnut crystals in with the watercolors but I liked the idea of having more control over the brown "spotting" by adding them to the brushos on paper. I think I've learned that I will probably use the 5x7 gel plate with them so as to have more control over the areas that will be watercolor and the areas that will inevitably be acrylics and inks. You have saved me a lot of experimenting in a direction I probably will prefer not to go......As always, Thank you!
Thanks for doing this, I have a few of these and have never used them so might dig them out and have a go. I completely understand about night shifts. I am an exnurse and was probably on nights for about 10 years when my children were small cos it worked for our family. I also did the weekends cos that when my OH was able to look after the children. Was an absolute joy when my youngest went to school and I could work a day job 2 1/2 days a week. Good luck with your job hunting.
Ceri I kept hoping you were going to place a paper with white acrylic paint on top of those wet brushos to see what would happen. THis was fun though. I don't own brusho's but it looked fun ~ Patti
Beautiful colors came from the Brushos. I wonder, if I ground up a few of my watercolor pans (have too many sets)if I could make a Brushos substitute for practice purposes. You worked quite hard to pull it off. Yet you did. I am not sure why I felt so frustrated with this product- not you. The product. Regardless, Thank you for sharing.❤
I love the vibrant colours! One thing that may have activated the brushos on the paper is if you wet the top of the stencil and then turned it over like a stamp. I have done that with distress inks and it picks up some of the colour. But love these papers!
I did a video using color bursts on the gel plate with acrylic paints quite some time ago. I'll see if I can find it and post in Makers. I think your backgrounds look wonderful. Love&hugs to you and Biscuit ❤
Well, Ceri, these may not be your favorites, but I think they are really nice prints. I am primarily a card maker, but I can see these prints for a variety of uses, including scrapbooking, journaling, and for card fronts. I guess I would not think of using Brusho or Shimmer powders as the base either. I like 'em! Thanks for going through this process for us.
Night shift is tough. But good on you doing what you needed to do to keep the family afloat when Covid stopped your other income flows. Hopefully you will get a new job with more social hours soon.
THANK YOU SO MUCH...I learned a lot from you and the experiment this morning... THEY TURNED OUT BEAUTIFULLY 😊...I am going to try some of these techniques with the brusho pigment powder and when I do I will tag you... Hello...HAVE A FABULOUS DAY EVERYONE ❤️ TTFN
Hi Ceri - love the idea of using these on the gel plate (disclaimer - I'm only part way through watching this video). I know a similar product as (Ken Oliver) colour burst powders or Cosmic Shimmer pixie powders and there are videos on TH-cam. If I said mixed media tags :D .... I do enjoy all your videos (I'm new to gel plates and mixed media). Also these powders can be great on the mini gel plates
Wow Ceri-i can really see these backgrounds as card and postcard layers. Just add a silhouette stamp (maybe one of Lavinia’s creatures) would definately complete them.! Also, i am wondering, what would happen if you sprinkled the brushes on the bare plate, spitz them lightly then let them dry. Then pull them with a layer of pearlescent or metallic acrylic. As for a day job, does tat grocery store have an in-house bakery? If they do maybe you could do a couple of days a week decorating cakes.
What is the white panel you’re using under the gel plate and acrylic? It seems to clean so well. I am enjoying each of your videos since discovering then. Thanks for sharing. You’re a very good instructor.
Hi, Ceri, Are Brushos the same thing as Mica Powders? And would you recommend using watercolor paper versus cardstock? Thank you so much for being adventurous enough to experiment with this medium! Much love, Julia ❤
Nights are hard, I start at 6am on stock control which is early enough! Can the grocery store not give you a day shift instead? I'm sure you'll find something to fit 😊

I see that final and i think tropical fish would look great on it. I love the colors. Take care, be safe.
Thanks 👍

@@CeriGriffiths You’re most welcome! Cheers!
I love the effects of Brusho. But I find it very expensive. Too much for my budget. It was nice that you shared it with us. Tks

P.S. I think I've mentioned to you previously that I first learned to use a gel plates using Alcohol inks. I hope you have fun with that.
Brilliant as always, l watched through the night, so thought 'space the final frontier! Loved it!😊
That was fun! Thanks for keeping me company and sharing your experimental process. The metallic paints really added a beautiful touch.
Thank you so much!
Great job. Love watching you create. TFS

Loved watching the process you were making me laugh. Some pulls we’re making we think of Jamaica 😂 💓🙌🎨

It’s an idea, I’m not sure how intense the ground water colour powder would be but certainly worth an experiment.

Are colour burst like Brushos? I’m guessing they’re another brand.
I think so. They seem to have more variations in one color than brushos though. I'll have to play some more soon.
Love them play are so cool😊

Wow Ceri-i can really see these backgrounds as card and postcard layers. Just add a silhouette stamp (maybe one of Lavinia’s creatures) would definately complete them.!

Julia I think they’re different things, on you paper vers card stock that may depend on your project.
Maybe some water color paper Ceri!
How do you condition your gel plate and I've heard different people say different things but I'd really like to know

Royal uses silicone basters they look like a brush but they're made out of silicone and they don't have any Pokey ends at all they're just floppy
Love it
