Hi Donnie, Thank you! It works.. I think the in body stabilizations helps a lot. I did miss some photos because of motion blur. So as loong as your subjects are slow paced or not moving, I think it is fine. And of course you have to shoot with some higher ISO.
I'm still struggling between this and the 2.8 version... Yeah maybe the Low light performance is enough for an F 4. But it would be so awesome to see some Night Street Photography with that lens to decide finally myself...
Hi David, First of all thank you. I haven't tested it, but my thoughts, from using it, are it is a bit slow and not the most accurate of the sony lenses that I own. But at least for me it is not a deal breaker 😀
I own this lense since 21.12.2021 and I am amazed what this lense can achieve. I wish I have better camera to it (I currently have Sony A7 II) to be able to quicker focus, but still… this lense is great and I don’t regret buying it. Thanks for sharing this experience, Merry Christmas.
I totally agree with you. It's a great lens for price. I haven't tried the 2.8 ones, but image wise I don't think you get much more for the considerably higher price point. Merry Christmas 🎅🏻 to you too
@@rizzarelli_ it worked. The OSS gives you a stop or 2, so it will make up for not being 2.8. It would probably help to use a monopod or tripod to stabilize it further, but overall it is okay for night. It was pitch black in this video and I think I got some decent images handheld.
I actually think it works ok for low light, because of the stabilization in the lens and the low light capabilities of the Sony camera. But you are right this would probably not be me go to low light lense :=) I just did the video, because of a request I got :)
Finally a person who made a POV with this lens AT NIGHT! 👍👌🙏👏 Now we can judge the performance for the Low light.

It's been a while. I think I shot as low iso as possible and used f4 to help with that, while keeping the shutter speed at around 1/250 an 1/500.
I think this is not a lens for low light 😂 I think more for filming wildlife or sports 💪🏼
