My opinion is Radiohead is mainly music you can interpret however you want, some see it as sad, others uplifting so I feel it’s wrong to say this is the definitive way to understand radiohead
Everyone has their own interpretation of it in whichever way feels meaningful to them. There is no wrong or right, nor understanding. It's something you feel and experience yourself. And as long as someone can draw joy or feel fulfilled by it, that's a great thing.
actually one of the best songs on the album, because of how it does its job its the perfect ending for the perfect album, i really love how good it is in context
The title track is, interestingly, one of my most played Radiohead songs. The chord progression, gentle textures, processed drums, pleasant yet weirdly unsettling atmosphere… such a unique experience even within the band’s discography.
This is definitely what it’s like to listen to Kid A. I especially love listening to Kid A right after OK Computer ended. It feels so satisfying. Do Pablo Honey, the Bends, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief, In Rainbows, the King of Limbs, and A Moon Shaped Pool next.
Kid A is a really funny album Sometimes is shit, sometimes is better than i remember, sometimes is great, sometimes is a masterpiece and sometimes is not as good as i remember
You successfully said nothing of any meaning, substance, or value. It was *the* most low risk, self-conscious comment one could possibly make on any video involving radiohead. You weiners need to stop being afraid of having opinions that are at odds with other people's opinions, having taste that is largely different from others and above all, avoiding inevitable conflict. Like re-read what you wrote. As many words as possible to say nothing that can be taken away
How to Disappear Completely and Treefingers were such a trip while playing the Kid A mnesia "game" the visuals and way the music moved around was so beautiful i just took my hands off of the mouse and keyboard and just completely relaxed and watched everything happen.
I despised this album as its a huge departure from their first 4 albums. However once I finally forced myself to listed to it I agree motion picture soundtrack is the most emotional an beautiful Radiohead song ever. I have NEVER cried to a song. And this song made me ball like a baby the first 2x i heard it.
I was 16 when I bought Kid A. Came home, put it on and thought it was a broken CD or something… maybe they put the wrong CD into that case…that’s Radiohead?! It was my first Radiohead experience. That was 2002, I guess. Adore the band ever since.
Kid A makes me fell like a teenage boy that has a bedroom in the basement, is a cinephile and dont know how to kiss but is still happy and depressed at the same time
everything in its right place is such an incredible opener. the first time I heard the first 5 seconds for I was just like 😳 and couldn't stop listening after that
It's funny how Optimistic seems like just a typical Radiohead alt-rock track on the surface, but in the context of the album it's completely otherworldly
jesse pinkman floating when the harps cone in on motion picture soundtrack is the exact repica of how i remember feeling when i heard it for the first time. i literally just put my head back and floated to the music.
how does it feel to capture and portray the unfathomable? The relentless, invisible, indefatigable undisputable, undeniable? How come it looks so beautiful?
@@ethai1 The resurgence of radiohead popularity has made the contemporary landscape of radiohead most liked discography totally different. Id say sharing first place is in rainbows and ok computer, and then we have the bends and after that it’s pretty interchangeable, (in popularity not my personal opinion). But I think kid A is more of a critic favourite then radiohead most popular favourite, and ok computer is both
@@moneyqueefer3164 Got it. I remember listening at first to Kid A and not really getting it. Only later when I read what the band was trying to do, I listened to the album and appreciated it much more.
Yeah fans tended to go crazy on FB groups whenever I say I like Kid A way more than In Rainbows. Dont get me wrong I love IR but I feel that album doesnt fully contain, in my opinion, Radiohead's trademark experimental sound, as Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief and ofc OK Computer does. But at the end its a matter of taste. This band has so many sounds to dive in.
Honestly, I would've used the clip you used for Optimistic for In Limbo instead. When the guitar and drums and vocals kick in, I always feel like I've been blasted through dimensions.
I have kid a in vinyl, listened it at least 30 Times, and im not aggree with you. Kid a is a dark chaotic trip of psychological distress and confusion. And listening to the Lyrics, its probably happening in a disturbed child mind, that doesnt Fully understand and express the discomfort, with disjointed and repetitive Lyrics. With album title as well. But hey, still Nice video, it was untertaining.
Idk but me personally i start ascending whenever i hear everything in its right place. Makes me wake up sucking oranges. As for how to disappear completely we all start sobbing when this song comes on
Whoever made this video understands Radiohead.
It's Jake 😁😁
It’s Thom Yorke’s alt account
It's perfection

It makes you disappear completely.

Kid A is an underrated moment, Treefingers is sorta nice but also boring to me

As a huge ambient music fan (and amateur ambient producer), Treefingers and how it was created is absolutely mind-blowing (and ridiculously calming)

You Nailed Optimistic on the head ⭐👍

Fucking lost on Optimistic with the vocals, thank you. This did not disappoint. Subscribed
IN LIMBO 😭 everything in this video is so real
Kid A is a really funny album
Sometimes is shit, sometimes is better than i remember, sometimes is great, sometimes is a masterpiece and sometimes is not as good as i remember
Wow. Wanted to express how I feel about kid A and didnt know how. I feel the same about it.
It’s never been shit for me. always a good atmospheric experimental album. that’s it
For me it's always a Masterpiece.

Kid A live is better imo

Kid a and threefinger sounds like something you would hear in Minecraft

All albums of’em really are just a safe space tbh.
You really know them too well! ❤
P.S: To be fair all songs are great as why we all sleep to different tracks!
I just listened to the whole thing today, and this is just what I felt listening to the album
The first time I listened to Motion Picture Soundtrack I actually imagined that exact scene of Jesse floating
Treefingers is the closest to true peace I’ve ever heard put to music.
Damn you did it
Kid A (the song) is such an overlooked song imo
its really comforting to me and I dont know why. It sounds like a robot singing a lullaby.
Just listened to it today, I kept falling asleep cause it was too calming
The transition from kid a to the national anthem is so hilarious
to be honest all songs make me feel like ascending
