I love this stove! Used it when is super cold. My brother in law bought a very expensive one made in italy and lots of problems. Castle works everytime I started.
We have been selling wood and pellet stoves since the early 90's and I can say that the castle is one of the stoves I repair regularly. The combustion fan is a weak link in the system and normally only last a year or so if you use your stove on a regular basis. Always remember you get what you pay for, so if it is on the lower end of price, you will find the warranty and life of the stove is limited. Also, make sure you buy a stove from someone who fixes what they sell or you may be without heat at the worst time due to malfunction with no one to get it up and running. The castle is sold in hardware stores in our areas and they do not work on them or recommend anyone who does. Be aware of this.
Can you throw me a few good pellet stoves in your honest opinion? I'm in the market to replace my vermont casting defiant wood burner as it's too much for my wife to try and start since I'm a 2nd shift worker and not home in evenings. I'm looking for something to heat 1500 sq ft and hold at least 40lbs in hopper. Is comforbilt any good. I already have a us stove wall mount pellet stove in our 600 sq ft bedroom. Now I need a pellet burner for other main part of house. Any opinions? Thanks.
Not everyone has 5k to 6k to drop on a stove. some of us are actually trying to SAVE money. I often wonder if stove dealers are not just as bad as propane dealers...
@@snowsolo have a pleasant hearth, never had an issue. Changed ingnitor on year 6 (taking longer to start). Regular and seasonal maintenance, runs like a chance. 8th winter and going strong
I just purchased one this week, the Instructions are not very clear, how about doing a short video on how to do the setting. When to use Manual or weekly. On my new one, it will heat the house, once it reaches the desired temp. then the unit shuts down and a bunch or pallets are left in the hopper and the stove will not start up again... the screen tells me to clean the pellet box or add pallets.. it does not make sense,
I had mine going on three years, and I love the stove, my igniter gave out after two years, but it’s been replaced. The pellets are burning pretty good, what kind are they?
Yes, the flame goes up and down. I use mine on level 3 when outside is below 24, so my heat pump electric heat does not work. Best investment made to the house. Reduced my electric bill from 260 a month to 130.
@@diegosti Diego, that's a great cost savings on running your heat pump - which I find do not heat very well when temps get below freezing. Question though is you save $130 per month on electricity which is fantastic but how much are you spending on pellets? If 40lbs gives you 22 hours of burn time how many bags a month are you going through on average and how much are you paying for a 40 lb bag of pellets?
@@diegosti One other reviewer said the manual said it is not as efficient on no 1 setting. Not true I take it. Have you noticed elec bill higher? Thanks
Ive had this stove for about a mknth. Constantly get high temp warning and it shuts down. I called manufacturer, they gave me stall settings and i closed air door. It over heats all the time on manual 1 or 2, i can never even use 3,4,or 5. Temp setting overheats every time i try it, at any temp setting. Im freezing in my house. Any other advice?
Give them a call back and have them walk you through the process of changing feed rates and if the ones they gave you were correctly inputted then they should spend time with you, making adjustments until you are satisfied with the settings. Manual 1 and 2 should be a very low flame that doesnt consume a lot of pellets. My first stove was totally out of wack. Now, I can go right in and make adjustments without much thought. The air door should not be completely closed. Generally you would adjust exhaust blower voltages to control air flow. If you are not sure about making these adjustments, ask Castle if they can provide a tech to set your stove up.
I love it! I buy pellets grom lowes and 1 bag at level 1 lasted 20 hours. I use my heatpump over 29 degrees. Bellow that just the pellets and the house in level 1 is around 75. Works wonderful!
honest review this stove is garbage at 34 degrees this stove wont raise the temp in my my house the pellet consumption is about 14 hours on number 1 with opening the pellet door and pushing the pellets to the middle of the hopper. it's pure garbage I shouldn't have to speed my auger up to level 5 and go into the settings and bring all the setting down to justify its inefficiency to burn right. 1100$ and 60lbs of pellets a day on level 1 is crazy and for you hater it's about 700 square feet in my house and I've done everything from adjusting the damper to changing the exhaust blower settings. only way to control auger is by setting 1 to 5. what a waisted of money. do yourselves favors and buy something you have more control over than having a pile of crap digital controller doing.
Harmen is the way to go I have had it for 11 years now not a single problem I heat a 5 bedroom house
Show us your outside exhaust and outside air intake.
Good video ! This is a really good Pellet stove.

its been a couple year, do you still like your Castle pellet stove? did you have any issues with it? I
Can’t wait to get mine
How noisy is it?
If I wanted to sit down a read a book in a quiet room next to this would it be overly loud, or annoying?
Does anyone know how to use/set the timer function? Is it countdown to off or on , or both? Thanks
Hello, thank you for the video! Where did you buy your floor mat for this stove? Thank you!
Lowes
Why does it keep saying fire off ignite in 30 minutes
thank you good review
Will this shut down once the room temperature reaches the set temperature?
I use the thermostat setting...cycles from 1 to 5. Mine had about 3 feet of slack in Theresa probe wire

That is just lowes pellets!
have you any problems with the pellet fuel clogging
Never a problem! I think if that happens will be the quality of the pellet.
Just got mine did test fire out side
Too hot in virginia! Waiting for winter time again!
Nice just did test.run outsideake sure the paint.smell is all gone
Work good now its getting cooler fired up to take the damp feeling out.
Does it have auto on/off or does the flame get reduced when it reaches the temp you set? And does it burn clean?

does not shut off...stays on low 1 out of 5 settings

You need to increase the blower voltage in the settings to draw heat away from the unit
