It sounds like the eruptions that forged the Valles Caldera were at least twice the size of the 1815 eruption of Mount Tambora. It would be interesting to see if this cataclysm caused a "year without a summer" of its own...
Wonder what it be like if all 3 supervolcanoes in the United State would to erupt. It's cool on how they work as well, but I get bad anxiety from them at the same time.

Hey is a caldera a super volcano? It’s sounds like it’s very powerful.
This particular caldera is not a super volcano, however, there are others (yellowstone) that are.
