I have had Porsches, Cayman and 997 s, F Types and M2. Love your Elise and content. I never really enjoyed driving until I drove an Elise and never looked back. Im still only 55 plus 6ft, so my Elise s3 220 fits perfectly. I did my cars the wrong way around. Should have drove a Lotus 20 years ago. I now just have my Elise and a GT86 for sideways daily, plus way more fun and saved cash. Please don’t add weight to it.
@@PeteAnda thanks for sharing! Yes good idea to keep it light weight. I am going to progress the build to more lightweight mods such as lighter flywheel, battery, brakes, etc. thanks for watching!
Congrats on the car! Couple of things from watching your video the wheels you have are rays CE28. Also these cars do have power locks, if the owner did not give you the remote i believe you can buy some and program it to your car pretty easy. in the interior there is a power door switch in front of the hazard light (on the vertical surface). enjoy the car!
@@nedsgarage thanks for the helpful advice. I’ll look into getting new remote power locks because we bypassed the immobilizer so the door locks don’t work with the remote anymore.
Hey, greetings from Aotearoa / New Zealand - just found your channel cause of your new Lotus. That is a nice car and as you say the mods are very tasteful, I especially love the front clam without the small side lights beside the headlight. Where does that clam come from and does it matter removing the smaller lights? I think that is a better front end look than the Series 3 clam. I've just decided to sell my 2006 Porsche Cayman 2.7ltr, which I've loved, to get an Elise cause at 56yrs old I might not be able to get in and out of one for much longer, time to take the plunge. Good luck and I look forward to following your progress with this car! cheers
Hi! I believe the previous owner said it is a front clam from a 2011 Exige or Elise. Can’t remember exactly, it’s tough to find the front lip he that matches it as well. It’s a rare front clam that I have not seen before either. Also, it can be challenging to get in and out of the vehicle initially, but after a few weeks it comes much easier and naturally so hope you are able to stick with it and enjoy the car. Good luck and have fun!
@@Sals_GarageI’ve researched so much about them that I know a little about them, yet I was never lucky to own one. Congrats for your S2 the more I see it the more I wish Lotus had built them looking like this.
@@Alexandrepenim thank you so much! We enjoy the car so far my favorite car I have ever driven. It’s our first manual car and it’s been fun learning how to drive it. Excited to get better and really enjoy the car to it’s full potential.
To avoid cam wipe in the future let it warm up properly, here in the uk it’s pretty well documented the issues arise when people use the engine coolant temp as an indicator to ‘go hard’. Which isn’t a good idea, Give it a good 15 minutes.

The trunk lid is from an S3 Elise, not an Exige. Otherwise indeed a tastefully done Lotus!
@@Alexandrepenim thanks! Makes sense since the Exige had a different style trunk lid similar to hatchback.
