Marcia Haydée - Lifetime Achievement Award 2019

As part of the 47th edition, the Prix de Lausanne wished to honour the work and career of the dancer Márcia Haydée. She received the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award.
One of the legendary ballerinas of our time, Marcia Haydée has danced on all major stages worldwide and has been hailed by critics around the world.

Congratulations Marcia, I often saw her dancing when she was still with the Stuttgart Ballet and I am so happy to had taken these opportunities. I will never forget her outstanding musical performance in "On your toes".

I had the pleasure to have her as a teacher, even just for a few days, at the John Crank school, I guess it was 1980 or something. My usual teacher was sick, so she stepped in. It was the period where the Grosses Haus was undegoing renovation, so both, Marcia Haydee and Birgit Keil had their offices at the school. I later had to stop dancing because of a bone disease, but it will stay in my memory forever.

In 80s I was happy to watch her and Cragun in The Timing of The Shrew - the both not young but still full of wonderful stage presence and technique. Unforgettable.
