I think the one thing holding this theory back is the fact that Bandit and Chilli would probably never agree to this. Reality tv is so toxic for children and they would want their girls to grow up with a normal, happy childhood!

My only issue with the theory that Bluey is a reality tv show is the potential issues with privacy. If Wendy is divorced/no longer with Judo’s father certain people knowing where they are could be dangerous. If Rusty’s dad in the Special Forces his family could be in danger if bad people found out where they live. I agree with another fan that it’s more likely that Bandit wrote at least ‘Fruit Bat’, maybe even more stories about their family, and is struggling with the reception of those books.
Asking if Bluey is the Kardashinans of the Blueyverse implies that the Kardashinans are the Bluey of the Kardashianverse and I just referred to our reality as the "Kardashianverse" and now I must rethink my life choices.
I think the hooray scenes are just them being happy that they are allowed to do something and not 4th wall breaks. I also think with the recent ep with bandit he was just coming to terms with his age, weight, and just life changes in general but was hyper focusing on those things until he came to terms with them.
There was also the scene where Bingo talked directly to us, the audience. The only explanation for that is that Bingo either knows her entire reality is a TV show in our world, or, more likely, her and her family are on a reality TV show in her universe.

Also something I have to add is, underneath the bluey goodnight fruit bat book there is another book which is Bluey the beach which is another book we have. And if you look closely at it you could kinda see a little bit of chilli’s tail and hat.
Great video, as always! The main two reasons I don't believe in this theory are: (1) If people in the family were celebrities, I would expect one of the kids would've mentioned it at some point, even if the parents were successful at keeping it under wraps. (2) I don't think being reality stars would fit with Bandit and Chilli's vision for what they'd want their kids to experience, based especially on their reactions to Bob Bilby mainly being shown things on screens. Writing a book could be more plausible, though they would probably still try to avoid a situation where Bluey or Bingo have fame thrust upon them while they're still kids. Some of the staring-at-the-camera could be explained as the camera being deliberately positioned to perfectly align with whichever direction they happen to be staring in at that moment (or Bluey and Bingo pretending at some moment that they are being filmed for some purpose, and others playing along if they know what to look for), though the collective "Hooray" stares sometimes seem a bit too coordinated for that. There could also be some sort of filter between what we see and what the characters see, which could explain the otherwise-unexplainable stares as well as the fruit bat book and electrical box.

I feel like Bandit talking to himself in the kitchen, is not so uncommon. I think a lot of people talk to themselves or make up imaginary conversations. Which is normal from when we were kids. Bandit seems to just me admitting to himself that he is in fact "harming" himself (meant jokingly) with this puppet character. But I doubt he'll stop, since it seems to be a way for him to show bad behaviour without him doing it. But that's my theory. I'd totes talk to myself more if my neighbours didn't look at me funny every time. Also, as a Norwegian, hearing hall of the mountain king always makes me smile! Something I just learnt, the Morning Mood piece, which comes from the same play as the hall of the mountain king, was apparently supposed to be conveying a sunrise in the Moroccan desert. I concur that all the stuff they do and show, would make sense, if they were in a reality show, speaking in terms of our reality. But looking at it as is, is much more fun and magical, I think. Trying to rationalize imagination is pretty much the end of it. Take "Sleepytime" for example. While of course we are watching a completely scripted program here, in the context of the show, we are actually watching Bingo's dream. Now if we are saying it is all a reality show and such, they of course couldn't actually film a dream, so within the show the entire thing would have to be scripted and created through special effects, taking away so much from it. And having the reality show thing one way for one episode and another way for another, would invalidate it to a considerable degree.

Respectfully, I dislike this theory very much. 😅 (Possibly even as much as the 'Brandy stole Bingo' theory but undecided!) Fourth wall-breaks and easter eggs are a stylistic choice and should always be taken with a grain of salt in relation to canon. It sees very unrealistic given the healthy parenting style Bandit and Chili model that they would be broadcasting their intimate family life. It's also incompatible with the fact that the real child actors behind the show are uncredited for the sake of their privacy. Don't let me ruin your fun though!

Respectfully, I dislike this theory very much. 😅 (Possibly even as much as the 'Brandy stole Bingo' theory but undecided!) Fourth wall-breaks and easter eggs are a stylistic choice and should always be taken with a grain of salt in relation to canon. It sees very unrealistic given the healthy parenting style Bandit and Chili model that they would be broadcasting their intimate family life. It's also incompatible with the fact that the real child actors behind the show are uncredited for the sake of their privacy. Don't let me ruin your fun though!
