  • This is the first Squareback I've worked on and was just a simple custom job. No restoration. Paintfill was redone in Blue & Black, along with the sole plate in Cerakote NRA Blue. A different look but still nice, and clean!

    Looks amazing. That’s my favorite putter. I don’t own one yet but one day haha

      It was actually my first time working on a Squareback. A nice putter for sure!

    quick question, after you apply the paint, did you wipe it / smear it immediately then waiting a bit to wipe off the residual?

    • @igolf906
      @igolf906  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's always good practice to wipe it clean after it dries. I only wipe immediately if there's a lot of excess paint.

    Any chance you can post a link to the tiny tools you used for the paint fill on letters? Thanks!

    how do you get the weights to look translucent like that?

    • @igolf906
      @igolf906  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The paintfill? It's translucent paint

    What paint was used on the weights and back?

    • @igolf906
      @igolf906  ปีที่แล้ว

      The sole plate or the paintfill? Paintfill is Tamiya & Testors

      Feel free to watch some of my other videos! Some are a little more in depth of each step involved. The main thing is cerakote here. Which if you're just doing for yourself, will not only be expensive, but will take practice.

    That thing looks awesome! How do you like working with the Cerakote? I hear a lot of good and a lot of not-so-good impressions of it... Wondering if powdercoat or Cerakote would be better for small parts.

    • @igolf906
      @igolf906  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The thickness of powdercoat is hard to control. So it can fill in the stamping and logos to where you cant paintfill and can just be a mess. Sometimes it works fine but, cerakote is just a way better option. It goes on extremely thin and is still a durable finish, and nearly ANY solvents can also be used on it unlike most powdercoats.

    Could you do a hot black oxide finish? I’d be very interested in that

    • @igolf906
      @igolf906  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't believe oxides work on Stainless steel. I could be wrong but those are mostly for carbon steel putters.

    How did you removed the existing paints?

    • @igolf906
      @igolf906  ปีที่แล้ว

      A soak in acetone.

    Another killer job man. How does it putt? I've been thinking about getting one once the prices come down on them.

      I try to keep my use on a customer's putter at a minimum 😋, but being a putter I've never used i took a few carpet roll putts with it before working on it and it feels nice. A good mix between a blade and a mallet.

      @iGolf906 🤣 I knew it! I wouldn't have been able to resist either. If I can ever find a decently priced lefty squareback 1 it's mine... 😆

    what paint do you use for all that blue rings and letters ??

    • @igolf906
      @igolf906  ปีที่แล้ว

      The blue is Tamiya brand. They sell the translucent colors that are close to Scotties original colors.
