By far the best Yosemite winter video I have seen so far. The views are stunning. From the amount of snow in the ground I am sure it was hard work to hike is some areas, but it was well worth the effort. Seriously, thank you for uploading this video for other to enjoy from home.
Wow beautiful I love it can’t wait. To go there in the winter I can absolutely tell by ur smile that it was so amazing there thank you for the video of the beauty of Gods Creation
WOOW all that snow is so beautiful! I've never been to Yosemite during the winter, but I'm taking my entire family in February. Can't wait to see all these views!!
Yosemite is not always covered by snow in the winter. In fact, it's quite rare to see fresh snow in Yosemite these days due to the draught. Hope we have lots of snow in February.
Been trying to think of an adjective to describe your videos......there are no words to do them justice. Way beyond exquisite, beautiful, etc. I think we are more in the “spiritual” realm. Thank you for showing us all these beautiful places in Yosemite. Will need to view some of your links (now that we have PLENTY of time on our hands.
Thank you so much Charlie for your kind words as always. Your comments are very special to me. They touch my heart. I wish there were a nobel prize for literature for TH-cam comments. Then I would have nominated you.
Mist trail, panorama trail , Glacier Point까지 .. 와우 대단 하고 박수 보냄니다..
I just came back from Yosemite and after watching your video, I have to go back. Hopefully in November! Btw, are helmets recommended for Clark Point? 00:37
Wow!! AMAZING!! Been planning a trip for this upcoming winter, what month do you recommend on going to see the true winter wonderland. thank you such a beautiful video
The fresh snow doesn't last long in Yosemite as its elevation is not that high. It lasts only a few hours, not a few days after the winter storm. I kept my eyes on the weather forecast and went to Yosemite just after winter storm to experience the winter wonderland.
Hi. Thank you for sharing. When did you go for this wonderful winter wonderland in the video? Don’t you think I could make it in mid-end December this year for a real winter scene like yours?
The winter wonderland may happen anytime between December to April. The tricky part is the fresh snow doesn't last long in Yosemite as the elevation is not that high. It lasts only a few hours, not even few days. In winter, I keep my eyes on the weather forecast and go just after the winter storm to see this kind of scenery. FYI, this video is taken on December 2, 2018. th-cam.com/video/29aKBjsyBEQ/w-d-xo.html
Wow! Thanks a lot for sharing this video. Question : do you think we can do snowshoeing in early Feb? Also any place to rent winter hiking equipment in the valley? Thanks
It depends on weather. Snowshoeing is fun if you do it on fresh snow. Keep your eyes on the weather and go the next day after snow storm. There is no rental shop in the valley. You can rent gear in REI.
@@YongsungKim I plan to do 30 miles in a one day. Will be wearing snow boots for the hike which I’ve never done in a hike. Any grail trail recommendations that amounts to that?
This is 32 miles and my favorite hike in the winter condition although it was technically not winter. It was April. th-cam.com/video/q4oKRyHvl_U/w-d-xo.html This is 20 miles and my favorite hike that I actually did in winter. The distance doesn't matter. What matter is the depth of the snow. You will hardly need snowshoes in Yosemite valley as its elevation is only 4,000 feet. Not much snow accumulates there. Drive up to badger pass which is 8,000 feet to do snowshoeing.
Hey Yongsung, i'm a big fan of your videos! I had a question about winter backpacking in Yosemite. My friend and I plan to do a 2-night, 3 day backpacking trip next week in Yosemite. It seems Glacier Point is the best for that but it seems tooo long for us (20miles roundtrip?). We are not as fit as you and think realistically we can do 5-6miles a day. Do u have suggestions where to go? We are considering taft, sentinel dome, or Glacier point. Dewey seems too short for a 2-night, better for 1 night. Any suggestions would be great, thanks!.
I did 1 night 2 days backpacking trip last weekend and it was awesome. th-cam.com/video/o3WcfJwC1zg/w-d-xo.html If you do it in 3 days, it will not be very challenging. You can camp near the top of Yosemite Falls and hike to Eagle Peak as a day trip. Or you can camp the second night near Eagle Peak and hike down from Eagle Peak all the way to the trailhead on third day.

No, helmets are not necessary for Clark Point. I wore helmet there as I came down from Glacier point. th-cam.com/video/Mgmq6fnj6dg/w-d-xo.html
@@YongsungKim thanks. Is it necessary for Glacier Point? That’s another hike I’m planning too.
Only in winter. There can be icefall from the cliff near Nevada falls.
Wow… this is incredible and your smile just says it all. What month was this?
Thanks! It's a compilation of multiple trips mostly between December and March.
@1:26 what trail? that view is insane!

Good question. In my humble opinion, Badger pass trail is the best for beginners.

It depends on the snow condition. I've hiked up to 10 miles on snowshoes.
