12:12 is the exact reason I love this platform. Thank you for sharing this stunning footage with us all 😍🤩 I just hiked Halfdome solo last month the day after they took the cables down and the fall foliage was absolutely gorgeous.
I was hoping to get back up there this Fall but it didn't work out. It can be amazing up there in the Fall. Did you CLIMB Half Dome with the cables down? Climbing Half Dome is still on my list, but I don't think I could make that in one push, especially on a warm sunny day. It's a monster hike just to GET to Half Dome and then that crazy climb up! I hope to do it some day!
@ I sure did climb it! The hike to subdome sure does kick your butt 😅 but it is SO worth it. Climbing the cables when down is pretty sketch but if you have a harness and carabiners/prusik ties to secure yourself to the actual cable you’ll be fine.
absolutely beautiful. Really thought about taking my family this winter after seeing thie video, but am now having second thoughts. I saw bloomberg video on the poor management of the park services (hotel accomodations, restaurants, etc) by a management company called Aramak. Roofs falling causing accidents, food poisoning, rat problems. . . But Yosemite is so beautiful. . . .
Thank you so much for watching! I saw the same video and I think most of the criticism was aimed at Curry Village and the staff accommodations. I've been there several times since Aramak took over but have stayed in the Lodge and have had no problems whatsoever. The rooms have been relatively clean and the food has not been too bad. Maybe not as good as when the former vendor was there but it was ok. If you stayed at the Lodge, or Tenaya or the Ahwahnee, I think you'd be fine. The trick is getting to the park when it is snowy and in certain years, that can be pretty rare. I hope you are able to go! :)
Thanks Rune! It was pretty amazing, especially after they closed both of the highways into the park. It doesn't happen all that often, so I felt very fortunate to be there. Thank you for subscribing! :)
Absolutely wonderful!!! Yosemite is somewhere I would love to visit but wow in the winter like this would be stunning! you have captured it all so beautifully! I know the Fire fall shot can be so over crowed but oh man id love the chance to shoot it too! Cheers
Thanks Neil! I hope you get a chance to visit there in the Winter! Lots of rain so far this year and not as much snow, but if you can get there after a big snow storm, it can be pretty amazing. :)
I had tire cables, but I didn't really think about what would happen if they stopped plowing the roads. It took me at least an hour to dig out when I bottomed out in front of Bridal Veil. I have since moved on to a lifted AWD Toyota Sienna Camper Van, LOL.@@JohnPhan1
Hi Lam - I think you are correct. For busy Summer weekends and for the Horsetail Fall weekends in February, I think they still leave the gate open for vendors and for guests who might be arriving late when there is no one in the booth. At the beginning of this video, I actually drove in around 5 AM, before they had closed the park due to the heavy snow and no one was in the booth. If it's a hazardous situation, I think they usually close the road much further down and the CHP or park Rangers will usually be there to turn people away. On the day I got snowed in, I left after I heard what was going on from a Ranger and didn't try to stay overnight. All the guests were being asked to leave at that point and couldn't come back until the heavy snow threat had been lifted. - I just checked and the NPS confirmed you can still enter the park without a reservation on busy weekends, but they say you need to arrive before 5 AM or after 4 PM.
Goosebumps! The beauty of God's creation is stunning and the light and the dark contrasts, wow!
Thank you so much for the encouragement! :)

Absolutely Beautiful Stunning view of Yosemite in the winter👍
Thank you so much for watching!
Me and my friend were also here in Feb 2019 and it was one of the best days we ever had. Thank you for the memories.
Thank you for watching! The amount of snow that came down in 2019 was amazing. I hope we get another Winter like that again this year. :)

Wow!!!
Thanks for watching! :)
I thought you can bypass the reservations on the weekends if you go at night because the booths are closed?
