- South African / Aussie raised Craig Anderson is arguably the most influential free surfer of the last couple of decades. Craig has never been one to hog the limelight, in fact, he was pretty uncomfortable being followed around New York by Sam and his camera, though that could have been thanks to the ‘morbid’ hangover he was nursing. In this episode, Craig chats through the process of leaving one of the biggest surf brands in the game to set up his own venture, FORMER and the mistakes he made along the way. It’s a super chilled insight into a super chilled bloke. One to sink a beer to for sure.
In this season of Pack Heavy, Chase Light, we follow surfers, snowboarders, artists, connectors, entrepreneurs, business builders, photographers and storytellers. Craig is a real dude. Met him in Jackson Hole and rode the gondy with him smoked a J and drank a beer then followed to quik guys around and hit features with them...good times. Formers dope as. Love how they started something and turned into a solid brand that is recognized. I my self have started a brand with my brother just not as much titans involved as Former. Cheers. @Peakingindo

while the transparency is cool, cant say i would done the same... some of these dudes need to work a 9-5 n then walk away from a contract like that. I barely even surf anymore, use to be my life. im up at the crack of dawn to get to work, found my self becoming weekend warrior.
