LMAOOO i cackled when Alistair approached you. Its a shame the game doesnt make it more clear but some of those gifts bodahn sells are from the “gifts and feastday” dlc and all of them can either give like +50 or -50 to a companion, like w morrigan and the alistair doll. Usually his romance is much more spaced out and sweet. If you jump your relationship up too fast it skips dialogue and interactions :( (i also learned this the hard way)
It doesn't necessarily skip them, but you can find yourself having them out of order. I think this is why the relationships in DA2 and Inquisition were scripted so that you couldn't just leap frog your way into a romance by exploiting friendship gifts in a single 5 minute session. Never mind the wonkiness of accidentally clicking a companion in the midst of battle and suddenly Alistair wants to woo you with his rose just right then and there, that Ogre heading your way be damned.
Congrats with the first 1K subscribers! This fall Dragon Age 4 is released and the hype around it is going to be no joke. So before that many people will be coming to your channel to refresh their memory regarding the events of DA 1-3.
Hi Kiki I admire your ability to hear a character pronounce something, correct yourself in the moment, and later continue to pronounce it incorrectly. 😂😂😂😂
The relationship fast-forwarded because of the DLC gift (DLC gifts cost nothing in Bodahn´s shop and have a name of whomever the gift is intended for in the description, normal gifts don´t have it). :) It is mostly for people who already played the game and want to "cheat" in progressing the relationships with companions while replaying (or to try how it is when everybody hates you, thus option of the Ugly shoes kind of gift which causes heavy loss of approval you already experienced with Leliana). Unfortunately, it is not stated in the description. So yeah, it doesn´t normally jump so quickly :D Anyway, great chaotic gameplay, I enjoy it very much and glad you like it, ♥ except the crashes ofcourse. Those can be frustrating and happen in Denerim often. :C
Regarding Alistair moving too fast, Origins does a poor job at showing the passage of time. I remember an offhand comment after you complete of the first major story arcs that has been a year since Ostagar.
Try getting your Spell power over 50. Purchase the tomes and the runes for your melee weapons, Sandal will enchant the weapons that have rune slots. Go kick some darkspawn arses my lady.
Weapons need enchantment slots to be able to be enchanted. When you look at a weapon's stats if there is one or more square at the bottom of the stats box it means the weapon is enchantable. For Sten to use his main weapon abilities he needs to be using a two-handed weapon. Sten is looking for something, I think now that he likes you he may open up about it.
Thanks for confirming I did think that because she had most of the cold ability. Oh that makes sense I've recorded a few episodes in advance but I'll have a mess around with weapons 😊
Storage chest is 100% safe, I have never had any problems. The vanilla game didn't have a storage chest and they wanted players to buy Warden's Keep DLC to get one. Awakening DLC has storage chest too. Dragon Age II and Inquisition have storage chests by default.
Your excitement over the storage chest is so cute. Glad you finally found it! BG3 spoiled us all lol -Starfang, the longsword you had smithed, is one of my favorites in the game. I completed the main story with it in hand - >Shale makes a comment about pigeons "Do you think he likes pigeons??" Mmh no quite the opposite, actually. Shale has so many birds shit on her when she was stuck in place, so she HATES all birds lmao -Just a little clarification on your ending segment: You and Alistair are the last of the Fereldan* Grey Wardens. There are still Grey Wardens in every other country in Thedas, especially the Anderfels, which is a country you read about this episode. In fact, the Grey Warden headquarters, Weisshaupt Fortress, is located in the Anderfels!
expanding on this a little: one of the things that made Loghain so upset in the prologue was that the Wardens in Orlais could come and help fight the Blight, but Loghain hates Orlais because when he was younger Orlais conquered Ferelden. He and the last king, Cailan's dad, became besties while retaking the throne. so in his mind he didn't want to invite Orlesians in when he and his dead best friend only JUST kicked them out. Plus there's lots of drama about Cailan's relationships you might find out in a later dlc called Return to Ostagar 👀
When you are enchanting those weapons that you see are the only ones that you can enchant and those runes that you see under it are your enchantments read them and you will know what they do
I think you might do better by giving Sten a two handed weapon also, since all his skills require a two handed weapon :) Thank you for another episode!
If you like reading then i recommend the Dragon Age novels too. The first 2 take place before Dragon Age: Origins so you can read those. Asunder and Masked Empire take place between Dragon Age II and Dragon Age: Inquisition so only read after beating the second game. Also Last Flight takes place after the second game but most of the plot is set in the past, you will learn more about blood magic in this. Tevinter Nights is the latest book set after Inquisition. I also recommend lore books The World of Thedas which explain the lore and have nice artwork. There are 2 volumes. Volume 1 has some stuff from Dragon Age II so best to read after. Volume 2 is best read after Inquisition. These are great for people who want to know more about the world, it's history, places, religions, races etc. There are also comics but i haven't got them yet.
Hey Kiki. I've been watching parts of your playthrough so far and really enjoy seeing someone discover Origins for the first time. You even animated me to start another playthrough (shame on you😂) However I wanted to give you two (spoilerfree) pieces of information concerning the dlc content. 1. Many Dlc items do not export into Awakening. And the matter of which ones do may depend on your port. For example the pc version didn't export the helmet of Honleath, which made my mage tank very, VERY sad😢 The second point: If you place an armor or weapon WITHOUT runes into your storage at soldiers peak, that item may be upgraded to a higher tier version of itself after leaving the area. This applies to generic "non-unique" items or Dlc gear, like the warden commanders set. Prerequisite is, ofc, that there is a higher tier version in the files and you fulfill the level requirements to spawn it. Looking forward to see more of you
weird, the helm of Honnleath always exported into awakening just fine for me on PC the warden commander armor disappeared though, so my warden was there in the opening cut scene with nothing but helmet and underwear
@@daria-oq3mn hold up! You're right. I mixed it up with the Xbox version. The original pc port was the one that didn't spawn the ancient elven boots in Lothering. Thanks for pointing out my mistake
I can appreciate that the constant crashing is frustrating as hell, but you're going to have to deal with it, I"m afraid. You can't just avoid Denerim and expect to progress the game.
I think you're right to let your warden be selfish and take a little piece of love for themselves, You and Alistair deserve something happy while everything else is chaotic. Now we can only hope that Alistairs get more ah, comfortable, with flirting to help avoid the glitches lol
Right! I feel like this is their first taste of love and I think they deserve it especially after all the pressure of being the last 2 Grey Wardens. The glitch was so funny 🤣 I honestly didn't know what to do!

Shale gotta be one of the funniest companions along with Sten 😂
Honestly Shale is hilarious 😂 and at first I wasn't sure about Sten but he's really grown on me NGL aha
I love how seriously you take the dialogue options and how much you talk through your thought process.
It did suddenly happen, when you gave Alister that 50+ gift. The game doesn't warn you about this and it should.
Your facial expression when Alistair wanted to "spend the night" with you absolutely killed me 🤣🤣
Congrats with the first 1K subscribers!

@@kiki_maliki Just keep playing and you'll see how deep the rabbit hole really is :)

That's is not cool to say
I know 😅 it's a problem, my brain immediately erases what I've been told and I just start making up words aha
@@kiki_maliki I do it too sometimes. It's like my brain knows the proper pronunciation but my mouth wants to do its own thing. 😆😆😆
You have Sten using a sheld and a sword so he can’t use any of his skills because it’s for a 2 handed weapon
"I'm sure you'll be ple-"
*KIKI smashes the skip button*

I loved your reaction when you found the party storage chest.
You can get Zevran the rare antivan brandy from the shop - I think you might have missed it :) He's from Antiva and likes alcohol so it's perfect.
Regarding Alistair moving too fast, Origins does a poor job at showing the passage of time. I remember an offhand comment after you complete of the first major story arcs that has been a year since Ostagar.
Yeah... In DA2 it is explicit.
Try getting your Spell power over 50. Purchase the tomes and the runes for your melee weapons, Sandal will enchant the weapons that have rune slots. Go kick some darkspawn arses my lady.
Oh wow, really 🤯 yeah I only thought it had been like a few weeks, a couple months tops
At the conclusion, we get info on how long the blight lasted and Awakening starts months after Blight is defeated. More stories to read then too...
Was exited to see your reaction to seeing the storage chest 😂😂😂 not disappointed 💯
Honestly 😂 I was so happy I was getting so stressed about what to sell and keep aha

Winters Breath is a frost staff suitable for Morrigan as she has cold abilities. Starfang iia a one handed weapon so Alister loses his shield.
is a two handed weapon with three rune slots, you could have crafted a weapon for sword and shield.
Thanks for confirming I did think that because she had most of the cold ability.
Oh that makes sense I've recorded a few episodes in advance but I'll have a mess around with weapons 😊
Oh my god, I love your playthrough so far, I've sat and watched everything you have so far. Are you going to do the other games as well?
Thank you so much 😊 yes my plan is to play all of them, hopefully they're as amazing as DAO 🙃
Sten is my absolute favourite companion. The wisest of them all, he actually has good life advice. I fully expected you'd hate him, glad you didn't
Runes are interchangeable on weapons you never lose them-
Just wanted to say, your vids help me to focus while working ❤
1:42:28 Sten's probably avoiding eye contact at this point 😂
Elhara can target an ally for healing by clicking on their portrait.
Sten is two handed sword user i remember
