  • I bought all this Wire on a Fleamarket last week for 10 Euros.
I hate tangled up Cables and Wires so i decided fix this Problem
Check out my Instagram to see a rough Sketch for this Wire Organizer.
This Project is quite simple and you don´t need a lot of Tolls to build it.
BTW this is my 50th Build video on my Channel...crazy huh?
Let me know what you think in the Comments.
    Thanks for watching!!

I love that you took what might have been a very simple build and added razor blades and o-rings. Beautiful work as always.

Jesus christ, I came here to learn stuff and 8 seconds into your video and you already taught me that a washer can be used as a perfect tracing space. THAT DIDN'T TAKE LONG.

Brilliant. A wire dispenser that not only dispenses wire, but cuts it to length, too. This sort of thing looks like it could easily be turned into a commercial product that would sell very well.

Laura, this is cool enough to leave me speechless. Re-purposing things to make other things - like the LEDs and the razor blades - really rocks. (I guess I wasn't quite speechless after all)

I love your use of the tiny light bulb insulators and the flute is so playful! Nevertheless, I winced the first time you ran your finger over the razor blade to show us that it won't cut you, but will cut the wire. Brilliant story telling Laura.

    A really great project!
But one idea i would have too: to de-isulate the last end, you can put a second row of "nifes" over the existing ones. In the middle there is a hole in size of the wire and then it would cut AND de-isolate the wire while grabbing it.
    You are great, stay tuned!

That is so well made!!! And my mouth dropped at how cool the washer trick was to mark out the spool radius! Maybe one thing you could do is make the razor blades adjustable so when they get dull in one spot you can shift them over. Nice build! 😀

Yet another clean and groovy Laura design. You are inspiring me to organize wisely. Don't you just luv aluminum! It doesn't take a masters degree or special tools to cut the stuff and comes out shinny and pretty and doesn't rust....well....until you try and weld it....then it DOES take a masters degree.

    • @laurakampf

The razor blade cutter is a great touch. With a bit of adjustment you might be able to use that idea as a stationary wire stripper as well. Ex. mounting two blades in steep V pattern or even trying to cut groove in blade itself.

I love your wire organizer. It is much more organized than mine. I have a plastic box that all of my small spools of wire go into, but I have been thinking about using a box that I saw in the fishing department of my local sporting goods store, it is very similar to what you have made, just no cutter, and it's plastic. I see a lot of your projects, and wish I had half the shop that you have.
