    Balance is key, I usually only drink on special occasions and holidays with loved ones. Don’t really ever drink passively like a beer with dinner or something

    What worked for me was breaking all the bad eating habits that came with the drinking. So now when i go out drinking with friends I do just that. No more eating whole bags of tostitos, wings with my beer or McDonald's drive thru after I leave the bar etc.

    Have a hard liquor straight or with ice, and just sip that one drink ( max two shots) the entire time out. Works for me.

    I would say this is the hardest thing about keeping fit every time you get in a training groove there’s a party or whatever,well for me anyway

      Literally every night. I use to be able to pull it off. Daydrink then run a 30k mountain ultra the next day. 5 IPAs the day before qualifying for Boston. Those days I am afraid have come to an end. I’m unable to drink as often as I do and perform. Time for some tough decisions.

    You don't necessarily have to drink when out with friends to be social able. The problem is society has been pre programed to believe you need to drink to enjoy. Where the truth is further from the truth. It's all in the mind

      100%, alcohol is a poison which makes people more stupid and that’s all it does. Flavoured ethanol to make the people who sell it rich and make the people who consume it miserable, dependant, and weak.

    I enjoy the weekend beers but I’m doing the typical “new year, new me” crap and going on a 90 day cleanse of no booze after the holidays

      Sounds good. My buddy I’ve been trying to say just switch to the hard liquors. Especially tequila since it’s the only upper alcohol. Obviously never great to drink all the time but replacing any vice is much easier. Then the desire for it slowly fades

    As an addictive personality, I only drink very very occasionally because I tend to relapse into my younger alcoholic habits easily.
    If I did other drugs, I'd pretty likely be dead.

    It's a damn sight easier to get to or near to your desired physique or performance goals first. That doesn't mean no cheat days and booze but it may mean being on the stricter end of the spectrum balance wise for the majority of the time. When you achieve your goals (especially when it comes to physique) you have infinitely more incentive to maintain that (even if you're being way less strict about nutrition etc.) once you reach that, than prior to.

    I extremely rarely drink. For me i try to max have 2 drinks of anything, especially alchoholic. Everyone is different but thats just me

    I just Fast the day before knowing that I am going to have a lot of calories if I am going out.

    No one ever achieved greatness being moderate. If you want to be the best then be your best every day. Not the hardest equation.

    I’ve been doing weight training for about 2 months consistently should I add cardio to my training so I can trim my waist or any other recommendations or just be more strict with my diet

      When I smoke I try to make sure I’ve got yummy stuff around. Oat, egg and banana pancakes with some fruit is always a good one. Add a tasty protein shake to that too if you want

    If you're really trying to maximise your fitness, don't drink, don't party, and socialise only if it's really important. I know that doesn't sound as pleasant as "everything in moderation" but it's the actual truth.

      Do socialize. You don't need to drink or "party" in order to socialize. Having a strong social network is an indispensable aspect of overall health too.
