Well done mubby, you have done a great job by going down history lane. I'm proud of your efforts, we need more of this. It is no more a wonder why history was scrapped from our educational system, we need agitation for it to be restored. We need not forget our origins.
I never regret traveling all the way from Osun to Abeokuta, the last time I visited the Town, Its a fun place to visit often for vacation and relaxation. Visited the site with my family and we had loads of fun especially with all the history and knowledge gained. My children were the happiest as they had wanted us to visit for so long. Kudos to you Brother for bringing back history...
Egba United Government was not aware of almagamation until after 7 months of amalgamation agreement that lugard informed them. Iwe oriyin location or premise still exists long oke ilewo to kuto road. However you have done great research and work bros💯👍🙏
Very well done Mubby. Just as an addition, The Lijadu Sisters, talented songstress pair of folklore genre. Jimi Solanke, Tunji Oyelana, Haruna Ishola, Batile Alake, Dipo Sodipo, aka Pope, and Wasiu Ayinde among other ORIGINAL creative artiste and musicians that Egba Abeokuta has produced.
Oh wow! I have always thought that Baban Gani eto was from Egba. Thanks for this information. I must say that you have done us proud by bringing fun into history the way you have done. Please keep it up. I think there should be a way to set up a hall of fame, red carpet gala night in honour of all our artistic heroes, dead and alive.
Awesome ! You didn't mentioned Yusuf Ajao Olatunji(Baba l'Egba) the greatest sakara musician while mentioning the great musicians of Abeokuta origin . Was it an error or an omission?
The first hospital is located in Ibadan and besides they don’t tell us Abeokuta and Ibadan fight war and besides Ibadan has never lose in war ogun okowa ri
There is a difference between Ibadan city has never been sacked (even this is not very accurate since Eba odan and Eba'dan were both sacked which led to "Ibadan omo ajoro sun") and Ibadan has never lost a war. Since it became "Ibadan", nobody has defeated it on it ground.
Well done for the document. My little comment for you is not to pluralise yoruba and egba. We are not English hence one egba , many egba. Same as one yoruba and many yoruba.
A commendable effort. However, many relevant historical happenings weren’t included. For example, Abeokuta is a Federation of 4 sections which settled in Abeokuta at different times. Each section has its Oba. The history of Abeokuta can’t be complete without such historical facts.
Thank you for this, it is always a tough decision deciding what to include and what to leave out, because my storytelling approach here was based on timeline, it was a bit difficult, but i did make sure that on at least 2 occasions, I captured the "OBA MARUN" in the oriki of Abeokuta
Abeokuta a city that was occupied by retuning slaves from sierra Leone in 18 century can being refered to as Nigeria greatest city when we have Benin, Kano and Lagos city to mention
Fantastic research 😃. Well-done Mubby

Wow!!...the city actually has lots of successful and great men who have left foot prints and are still making impact in the whole of Nigeria 👍🏾👍🏾
They do. It is a home of great people like most of our cities.
City or village

Thank you for this, I did miss out on a couple of names, but I would never miss out Baban Gani Agba and Mayegun of Yoruba Land if they were not Ijebu.

This is TH-cam, not Netflix. Let's appreciate Mubby's effort. This video has taught many a wonderful lesson.
