OOmg That is true respect for a legend and some of the Greatest love for the dance! So Beautiful to see, RIP Dear Sammy, I read your book 'Yes I Can' when I was a kid in the 60s.. A great man whom we will miss... And Bless Mr Hines he is so Awesome, Both made me want to learn tap. Sadly I never had the chance.. But still love it just the same!
one of the greatest lost arts of the world. two of the greatest to ever do it. man, i haven't smiled and been sad at the same time in over 10 years since my son's highschool graduation. Thanks for uploading.
This here was the true mark of talent that was passed on Sammy loves Gregory like a son Sammy and Gregory's father were dancing greats performers of high energy and style then to see this it's still the best thing I ever witnessed
A friend of mine who is a sound editor in hollywood told me that during the making of TAP rather than have a foley artist recreate the footsteps for Gregory's dances, Gregory came back and redid his routines so that they could record the sounds for the picture. Let's face it, it wouldn't get get any better. Anything that is not dialogue gets redone in post-production, and footsteps are one of those things. And to be clear, my friend did not work on the picture, so yeah, it's hearsay, but I have no reason to doubt my friend.
It's just a vamp section where the musicians and Gregory meet to resume.. Improv-ography he'd call it. Tap dancers and musicians vibe like this since the beginning of jazz.
RIP SAMMY & GREGORY

Two of my favorite performers, the late great’s Sammy Davis jr and Gregory Hines, there will never be any like them, RIP!!! Sammy and Gregory 😢😢😢

...Mr. Hines stared in a movie with Billy Crystal, a few decades back: cool film; they were cops; can't remember the title though...
