Thank you Daniel, for everything you do here on TH-cam, thank you for saving me ( even though it sounds cheesy, you did), thank you for all the masterclasses and thank you for this one too. I felt like i needed to say this to you.
Awww, nervous untattooed Danny Madison is so sweet. Got choked up a bit when you panned to Paul Daniels. He was my childhood hero and died just as I was getting back into magic.
I feel like it was 100 years ago! Me too, he became my biggest fan after the conference, I didn't spend much time with him but the times that he had for me were full of giving and selflessness, he gave me some of the most powerful advice ever, he changed so many lives for the better!
“We are all in this together” - preach Daniel Madison! Life is so much better when you surround yourself with positive people that build you up. Fanx for spending time with us, fanx for preaching positivity.
I know you don’t want it, but, especially after this display of skill and mental acuity, you deserve to be one of the most famous magicians in the world. Fanx, for all you do Danny
I think a more natural action after the load, might have been to overhand shuffle it to the middle, while noting that this is their deck that is thoroughly mixed. For magicians at least, I think that cutting a fairly shuffled deck right before placing it down might seem like that cut did something important. At least thats my thoughts on it.
Good notice, you’re absolutely right, there needs to be justification for us holding the deck for that moment and a simple shuffle might just do it. Thank you, Mazemir1 x
@@DANIELmadison I personally think that the cut you made when you first get the deck in your hands IS a natural action...for a magician. I've seen it countless times by magicians who mindlessly cut a deck while they talk or once they get a deck in their hands. It is a magicians fidget. So in this case where you are in front of many magicians, its actually genius. The fact that you do it upfront and not in a deceptive or hidden manner, makes the other magicians think "oh, that's too obvious to be something important."...like an object that is hidden in plain sight. Anything else, like a shuffle, MIGHT bring too much attention to what your hands are doing and make people wonder, "Why is he REALLY doing that.", especially when you already asked the guy to do a thorough shuffle.
@@DANIELmadison A charlier cut might be better because the less you handle the deck with both hands the better. And you can easily say, "And a fancy cut just for good measure!", since the guy already shuffled the deck. To me, a hobbyist, the magic isn't in the fact that the chosen card shows up in the deck, but it is me wondering "Where did he get it from so fast! His hands have been in my view the whole time!". I love what you have created here. It is technically simple to someone like me who does not have the perfect classic force or double lift, but can handle palming a card. Also, it's not an obvious or well known method, like the double lift, and it allows for some very amazing routines. Worst case, if I was bad at palming cards, I could use it for a card to pocket routine. Thank you!
I love how you get so deep in the psychology of magic. I think your long videos are worth the watch if people would actually take what you say to heart. Keep it up man.
Im only just now in the past week or so getting back into sleight of hand and magic after a couple years of not practicing, and I had jumped at the chance to grab the Advocate in the past. I still have mine built from back then. It has always (and still remains) the most powerful performance in my repertoire. Thank you for the further insight into your own handling. If anyone is in the fence about purchasing his masterclass on the Advocate, do it. It is 110% worth it.
I bought your PDF of this back in the day, an index in your pocket...unlimited possibilities. This could perhaps be your greatest gift to magic mate. fanx

Greetings from America. A few years ago I fulfilled a life long dream of becoming a practitioner of magic. But one thing that turned me away was I found the community to be very toxic. So I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your message at the end here. I wish more of us felt this way. Good luck Dan.
Loving all your videos Daniel and really enjoy your presentation style. Just watched this for the first time and its great seeing Paul Daniels. He was the magician I grew up watching, of course there was Copperfield then also but I wasnt a fan of the big stage illusions and prefered Paul's interaction with people one on one and close up. My favourite part of his show was the Bunco Booth where it had that traditional sideshow/carnival entertainment vibe. Its that style I've always wanted to mimic and recreate, I love the presentation, interaction and direct patter with people when close up. Anyway, stay safe, stay well and fanx for the videos.
This device is actually so good, it's pretty usable with any trick that involve any equivoque and no deck. I'm also thinking of OSYN. Actually I see it as a tool that improves so much almost any trick, or make it much easier/cleaner. Amazing work on this Daniel Madison.
Thanks for sharing this story brother. I've always enjoyed hearing the "behind the scenes" to these moments. Indeed, there is nothing new under the sun; however, it is the unexpected moments of discovery of art when there is nothing old and everything becomes new.
I already got this from Ellusionist with a weird glitch. The Advocate is one of the most brilliant and universal things in magic ever. Fanks for sharing this incredible device. This is a must-have guys
Thanks very much man. Youre different from all the other "magicians" who hoard "knowledge" to themselves and is afraid to admit that they actually got it from others. Thanks man.
Sometimes you jus can't win, for losing (😕!) and retrospect is ALWAYS 20/20. You have such a terrific attitude Daniel, and have been so very kind in sharing your magical magic. ThanQ 😔.
With upcoming end of Duality, competition will no longer be a part of our existence soon. As someone born on the 11th (of December), I came in as the very representation of duality itself and as a former elite gymnast (3yrs w/Karolyi)-I °KNOW° competition 😔. I know healthy competition tests our capabilities and makes us thrive to be stronger. But I also know that we are all ONE and there's going to be a time coming soon, when we will see that there will be NO NEED to "compete" with own selves(!). Eyes ARE opening to that fact by the minute now-but while we STILL have to exist and live in 3Dland, dealings that are honestly just trying to raise our vibration with LOVE, can never be discounted. I appreciate your outlook in how you do your magic and how it affects the people you touch with it. Your sincerity tells me EVERYthing! Fanx Daniel. 🙌

The only moment in the presentation that jars slightly is when he places the deck on the table and turns over is left hand as if subconsciously indicating that he did something with his left hand...
The cup did all the work and it didn't, just perfect. When first learning the Advocate I thought "if I don't have a cup, how can I get away with the hand reaching my pocket? " then I tried it. I don't leave house without it. Always been interested in what happened behind the scenes of that video, thanks for sharing that with us.
Daniel Madison you were very brave to go there and fool those magicians. Congratulations. And your philosophy of deception I found very interesting, it kind of opens new ways to experience a performance. very interesting!

That was one of the most entertaining videos I have watched in a long time. Great stuff. I am just a hobbyist but, wow, The Advocate, I'm wondering if it is something that I could actually get proficient at using. So far I've just perfected my double lift and a few other moves since I started getting into card magic 7 mos ago. What a wonderful video--- And I have 12 decks of Madison Rounders-- best cards ever!!!!
I agree with you. The sleights and effects being pulled off successfully under someone’s noise makes it all the better. I was about 7 when I learned triumph and when I was stripping out cards in front of 6 people watching me and know I wasn’t caught ... it was an amazing feeling. There is deft value to the reaction (being called the devil after a MENTALIST EFFECT) Is oddly an amazing feeling as well.
To be honest, I'm not sure. I was always unsettled by the fact that I only spoke about the possibilities and study of performance and handling in less than an hour - it always deserved so much more time for me, there's SO much to say about it, that's why the Masterclass is 5 hours long, it could have been longer actually! If you already know the secret and have developed it in your own ways then I'd say you are good, you've made it yours already, and that's how it should be, so don't part with your money if you have already mastered it in your own way x
I honestly didn't find it that impressive. Daniel seemed so caught up in the technicalities/psychology of it, he seems to of forgotten to put enough filler between him and when he touched the deck (other than standing further away from the deck directly after touching it), so people can instantly reverse engineer the effect without any trouble. I appreciate his thinking and his skill behind it, but this seems like a clear example of a magician who overthought the technicalities and forgot about the spectators/the effect itself. If this was 20 years ago when index systems were a lesser known method, this would flaw people for sure. Either way though, his dedication to the art and consistent high level of conducting the sleights he does, is something to admire and strive for.
What a beautiful and cunning thing. I remember watching this performance a while back and thinking how insane this was. It's a brilliant thing to make use of regular, normal body movements to conceal the deceit taking place. Bravo!
Just to be sure is it the four of spades or clubs that resembles the devil's bedpost because in really old literature it references the four of spades while in different novels it's the four of clubs.
How do I join the Madison Sleight Club? I have clicked on the link, and it just directs me to your youtube channel. I am after more magic and specifically the advocate. :D Thanks in advance.
Mr. Madison, how many routines/ideas how to use the index in the Masterclass? I already have the Advocate from that E release back in the days, so really wondering how useful the Masterclass is going to be for me :)
Daniel Madison: If you reveal the back of the stranger playing card, in some way you are saying the card came from other place. On the other hand, if the cards are spread face down, the stranger card will show the face, and people will think it's from the same deck. Isn't that a stronger effect? What do you think?
I think there's an important thing (imo) that you don't mention. Maybe I missed it. There is a huge time gap between the card has been chosen by David Blaine, and the effect's reveal, without almost any explanation of the phenomena. As spectators,we base our criteria on continuity actions, and do not process all the information we receive around us by assuming stuff, to make our life easier. That gives any spectator (even if its a magician also) a time gap where 'anything' could have happened. That concept is sometimes used in our own benefit (Forgetting parethesesis) Sorry for my english, did my best :)
Hey guys. first time poster, long time viewer. I'm confused, does this purchase just give us the link to the 5 hour video? Is there some actual item that comes too? Or is it a DIY thing?
i would like to ask you , how do you find the cards in your pocket .Do you put marks like sticky note or something that won't make the playing cards to look different so that you can fine that card that the spectator choose easily?
Hello Daniel, I have the advocate already from when it was released through ellusionist and I was wondering if there was another way to get a couple tips on it without purchasing the masterclass, I’m a very poor magician lol. I appreciate your time and hope you see this. Love your work, man! ♣️

Hello Daniel, I have the advocate already from when it was released through ellusionist and I was wondering if there was another way to get a couple tips on it without purchasing the masterclass, I’m a very poor magician lol. I appreciate your time and hope you see this. Love your work, man! ♣️
BEst video about art I ever seen.

I will definitely be buying this as a starter in magic this would be absolutely perfect for me thank you :) also amazing slight of hander love ur videos love ur cards I only have 2 decks so far but I’ll have more soon :)
FANX! I think this is goods for new starters, it's very easy on the sleights as all the work happens with a single thumb, so new creative ideas would work incredibly well if the Advocate was there from the start x
Great video man 🔥
love your shirt
