Man, I was so pumped to watch this episode. I too have no issue building high dollar decks but DAMN do I love me some budget content. I agree 100% that it gets old using the same cards over and over again in high powered decks. So yeah, please do more of this!
I know it's a small thing, but ive always thought you guys should be using clearer tokens and since this game had several turns of you yourself as a pod unsure of what a token represented it seemed like the right time to comment. I know people like to use their own pokemon cards or whatever, but when it's content for other people to watch maybe you should consider it for just those filmed games.
I absolutely love building budget decks. I use the same budget restrictions you did, I've got at least 15 decks built in that budget range. It's amazing what you can do with that budget.
It’s really cool how good Adrian is at playing white/blue. His Ghavi deck is a good deck, but even better when he pilots it. This deck, especially for being budget, was good too. He’s got great timing. Good job on the win.
These videos are snappy and well edited. Big fan of them. Both the budget games and cedh you all seem to have a good time and your deck building seems crisp
The budget decks are a joy to look at. Opening hand with a Diamond and Star Compass is kind of relieving to see being played. Really like the setup, also appreciate the sleek and simple playmats a lot!
Stoked you liked the show buddy. If you like these playmats you should do a google search for spell ground playmats. There made of cloth which some people don't like but I love these things
Love your content! Great editing! My playgroup recently created our own budget restriction that works really well to even the playing field: No rares in your deck! The only exception is you're allowed any rarity for your commander (good uncommon legendaries are fewer between). Super fun having games that don't allow for typical finishes like craterhoof or triumph of the horde.
Aegar proved itself much more interesting than I initially thought it could be. It's a pity the Narfi deck was hated out so soon, I would have liked to see more of it.
Also wanted to point out that Knowledge Pool and Teferi also achieve the same lock as the Magistrate. I used to play that Teferi as my commander waaaaay back in the day and that was my go to combo in that deck.
Yeah we knew about the redundant enabler I just didn't make a point to point it out for some reason. Vega is an absolute house dude! Thanks for watching
I really enjoyed this showing of the new juice. Vega is super sweet, I think, and the mono green dude is a pretty decent budget build, and it's still scary without the commander in play, attacking Into a field of death touch.
Knowledge Pool is a hard lock with both the Drannith Magistrate AND Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir that you had in play. So even had he responded to the Pool with removal on the Magistrate or something, it wouldn't have saved him from the lock... Unless he responded with player removal - say, a Squall Line where X = 21. Lol :D
this set convinced me to rebuild my Akiri//Kydele partner deck that’s based on Ink-Treader Nephilim’s ability because of the dragon and Orvar, thank god for actual fun stuff
My Progenitus Pure Spellslinger (no nonland permanents in the 99) was built under these restrictions, and it's a gas to play. No one expects that sort of deck.
Narfi and Aegar beat each other down 1on1 basically and put each other out of the game. They could have used some EDH politics. You and the green player got ignored pretty hard and then it was basically another 1on1 and you got your combo out to win the game. I liked the game explanation of each turns though and the wrap-up :-)
This is why you should use actual tokens and not random ass cards. The dry erase tokens are a pretty good alternative to needing a ton of random tokens. I use them in my play group.
It might be fun to see how low you can go with the budget. Maybe a penny pincher ($25-$35) version. Overall though I think $100 is a good budget to play with.
You messed up when he brought out fynn the second time you only took 2 poison damage if he hit u with 2 creatures you should have taken 2 points per so 4 poison total
Here's a really good resource to explain why. Thanks for watching buddy. blogs.magicjudges.org/rulestips/2012/03/what-protection-from-something-really-means/
Would really apreciate if you guys start using the correct tokens. Easier to keep track while watching and help avoiding gameplay mistakes, expecially because nowdays everything generate different kinds of tokens. Anyway, great content.
A small nitpick that always makes me furious: There are no suspend counters. Suspend is the mechanic. The counters are time counters. Why does nobody ever get that right? The game itself was still really fun though. I feel like the Fynn deck could've used a couple of fight spells to use as removal. At least a Viridan Longbow.
Fight spells would have been super helpful, sucker punch spells get you bonus points. And yeah lmao its just so common to say suspend counter that I get used to it, mb
You didnt play fynn correctly, was a good game but when fynn or any deathtouch creature deals combat damage to a player it gives them 2 Poison counters not 1
Are you really using Pokemon sleeves. the ones you get out of those freaking elite trainer boxes that fall apart in onrfucking shuffle. I didn't realize how bad you guys actually needed patreon.....

Glad you liked it buddy. Big same here, I normally like to play higher power level commander but the restrictions add so many options

I second this. Using clearer tokens would help us a lot understand what's going on, besides, it looks better!
Yeah we are gonna make that transition pretty soon here Thanks for the feedback buddy!
Yes InfinitTokens on Etsy are great for these types of online games!
This was great. Wouldn't mind seeing those commanders again
I'm pretty sure we will since they don't waste footage I think I hope
@@The3OfSwords we definitely burn footage, like clockwork
Also definitely will be keeping Deathtouch Tribal around
We burn like, so many videos
It would be great to see then a match at $200 budget then one at $500 to see the same commanders but not the decks
I suggested a budget match a while ago! Thanks boys for coming through. Best edh channel online!
Thanks so much for the kind words and suggestion, it may or may not have convinced us to make this game!

Budget restrictions? Narfi combo? Did Mitch produce this episode?
Basically
Where is the bubble then
The deck lists seem to be broken, can I get those?
This was great. new commanders, great production, and commentary at the end.
I'm a new subscriber
Really glad you enjoyed buddy thanks for watching and thanks for the sub!

Glad you like the pace of the channel buddy thanks for watching!
The Zelda chest jingle on guitar was FIRE (and got me to hit that like button so quick).

Triumph is an uncommon though
Ohhhh yeah kinda like a pauper version of EDH I'd love to try that. Thanks for watching buddy!

Yeah aegar Is pretty sweet! If we hadn't hated out narfi he would have won real quick
Was a fun game loved to see budget decks they really force you to research for cards it's really fun!
I am so hype for this set. I got my kaldheim set booster ready for Feb 5th. Really hoping to pull Tibalt and the Cosmo's serpent
Awesome goals man I hope you succeed those are awesome cards. Personally I'm going to build up that elf precon.
Good luck on the pulls my dude. Thanks for watching!
As soon as Vega was spoiled, I started researching and brewing a deck. Stoked to see you pull off the victory with you list.

@@MTGTheStack Thats fair, I've just seen a lot of ppl over look that combo, it must be too old school for the newer players lol.
Just built Baby Lavinia myself, so I can appreciate the pool win 😁 Vega seems really cool. Might build something round it 👀
Love seeing budget decks. Great gameplay and recap
Glad you liked it buddy! Thanks for watching

Calvin did Calvin things this game attack. Except this isn't Mardu and he actually had land ramp
Deathtouch tribal is how I won a pre-release for RNA.
@@The3OfSwords there’s no mardu commander and I’m sad
Turns out deathtouch is pretty good

This is exciting! Can’t wait for Kaldhiem!
dude same
Any chance you can fix the deck list links the vega link doesn’t seem to work
So did Guy already get his cards from the last secret lairs. Since I saw the secret lairs version of arcane signet.
No we proxied these decks and that was the first card image that came up
I wanted to see the Narfi deck but it wouldn't let me see it :(
the Teferi mage of zhalfir also combos with knowledge pool
It totally does I just failed to mention it. A lot of people don't know why it works that way, maybe we should do a short video on combos in UW
Equip target sick guitar riff

Teferi and knowledge pool is also a lock & could of been mentioned 😊♥️ great content though. It's inspired me to build a similar budget Vega deck.
Drannith Magistrate and knowledge pool is just mean. Going to throw that in one of my favorite decks!!!!
ahhhh my guy!
Is the budget covering prints of proxies? XD great content as always!
Fantastic idea and it should be done more
proxies are power, embrace
Yes that's the way to go indeed
The worst part is i think the real cards under the paper cost more than the decks
Not crazy about seeing the “lock my opponent out” win con in Vega, but that’s just me.
It be that way sometimes tho.
Sorry you didn't love the ending but big thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching
Idk but this theme music you guys use is always been my fav 😂👌🏾

I'd have to go back and check
