- 🌏 Epic Week in Western Australia: From Wave Rock to Rottnest Island!
This week, we crammed as much adventure as possible into our journey across southern WA, making unforgettable memories with Jele’s brother and his girlfriend before their flight out of Perth.
Our Journey Highlights:
*- Norseman to Hyden Road:*
What a hidden gem! This scenic route surprised us with breathtaking salt lakes, unique landscapes, and incredible free campsites. We wished we had more time to soak it all in.
*- Wave Rock:*
A must-visit despite its touristy reputation. We maximized our time here by catching the sunset, night shots, and sunrise-a magical experience.
*- East Bay & Misery Beach:*
After Wave Rock, we headed to one of our favorite free camps near Albany, East Bay, and checked out Misery Beach, awarded the Best Beach 2022 by Tourism Australia.
*- West Cape Howe & Shelly Beach:*
Shelly Beach took us by surprise with its stunning beauty and exciting drive. Plus, we had a special encounter with another Unimog!
*- Boat Harbour Beach to Pemberton:*
Skipping the narrow and windy highway, we opted for back roads through Mt Frankland National Park and discovered some fantastic hidden spots.
In Pemberton, we introduced our guests to the thrill of climbing WA’s iconic fire lookout trees-the Gloucester Tree and Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree.
*- Rottnest Island Adventures:*
Our final stop was a ferry ride to Rottnest Island, where we explored by bike, snorkeled at pristine spots, and met plenty of adorable quokkas!
Why Southern WA Should Be on Your List:
From stunning coastal beaches and unique natural landmarks to hidden back-road gems, this area offers the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.
Next Week:
We kick off our solo travels north of Perth, venturing off the beaten path-don’t miss it!

Another great video, thanks!
Thank you🙏
Es macht einfach nur gute Laune euch zuzuschauen…. Danke für dieses schöne Video ❤
Vielen dank! Freut uns sehr 😇
Conquer your fears on those high tree climbs, for sure!!
Haha yes the first time is pretty thrilling!
Great photography
Thank you!
Hey Jele and Pat what an amazing trip. You are seeing so much of Australia and enjoying every minute.
Looking forward to your continuing adventures. Regards Rob
Thanks Rob! Yes we are loving it 😍
Amazing drone work once again. 16:52 reminded me of Assassin's Creed viewpoint synchro, cause it looked unreal. The tiny bit of lens flare added to the charm of the sunset. The last Quokka was a paid actor, just look at that smile 🤣
Thank you! The new drone has also made a huge difference. Haha definitley we were just as surprised to see that Quokka smile. Must have had a good day 😅
Such beautifull places!!! 😍 We definitely have to go back one day!
Great video. Thanks. Could you please give the reference/link to the additional lights you have on top of your truck and tell whether you're happy woyh these or not. Thanks in advance.
Thank you! The spotlights we have on top of the cab are STEDI Type X Pro lights. Happy would be an understatement, those things make night seem like day. They can be so bright that white street signs almost blind you🙈
@@PatandJele Thank you. Just wonderful how you always take the time to answer comments. Thanks a lot and continue enjoying your trips and giving us so nice videos.
No problem :) we will keep the videos coming ;)
I am really interested to know how your electrical system works, especially with the mini split AC unit I see on the back of the truck. Could you do a video on this, including the specs, battery capacity, solar panels, and electrical components you have used? Also some data about generation and power use? Cheers, Franklin.
Actually it is in the pipeline. We are working on some footage at the moment but it will be a couple of weeks.
The sign is end of town limits (in Western Australia) max speed is set to 110kph.
Thanks that is good to know, not that our Mog can go that fast 😉
A tree named Hyperion which is a redwood tree located in California is the world's tallest living tree, it measures 115.92 m (380.3 ft), the second and third tallest trees in the world are located nearby.
Correct, I have seen the giant Sequoias in Cali and there are no other trees in the world that compare. But in this case we were talking about the highest treetop lookout. These were used historically as fire lookouts.
