      I've just ordered this, along with the Ferrari F8 Tributo and Nissan GT-R Nismo. Super excited to get some more new sets, and this one in particular as this car was from the year I was born, so is special to me. I would love to see a Lancia Delta HF Inetgrale or a Subaru Impreza myself. Maybe a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV?

    I think that's a great price. Quality, licensed, collectible, price-per-part is great. And the car looks GOOD. I'd have no problem paying $20 for the set or any comparable sets.

      The design is simple and boxy so of course they couldn't make it wrong, it's a Fantastic job but when it comes To complex-shaped cars they kind of struggle

      I just grabbed one, you should pull the trigger on it. As expected, it's well-built, very solid, etc. My only gripe is that you can't take it apart to make it into a normal Sport Quattro, but that doesn't really matter

    i’d love to see more rally cars in this line, specifically group b stuff, but that’s just personal preference. the flatness and simplicity of ‘80s cars really lends itself to being reproduced in lego form.

    I just bought this and the Nissan yesterday, I'm looking forward to building them tonight. Lego really stepped it up with these larger versions of the old versions, I was starting to get tired of the line in general, because they were just so out of proportion. Now Lego has reignited my love for these sets, there actually starting to look like model cars... amazing! Got all but the Lamborghini set thus far. Lego, please keep making these sets, they are awesome! And for the single vehicle sets, the price is perfect, I'm happy! Keep up the Awesome job Jang, you're the best reviewer of Lego out there!

      Hope you enjoyed it, I've got the Nissan and the Ferrari not to long ago and there fantastic builds, the techniques/shapes and angles are done extremely well and they look very accurate to me, as close as you can get will Lego. I got them both each for 12.99 on discount and would have definitely paid the full price for them. I want to hunt down the Audi rally car set next excitedly waiting for next years sets.
      And I'm so glad the theme moved to 8 studs wide it gives it a better scale and more details and intricate design. It really peaked my interest and got me into the theme making it my 4th favourite.

  • @Number-6

    Couldn't believe it when I saw this one. I'm more of a Lancia Delta kinda guy, but man, they have NAILED the look perfectly. And the rally fogs up front? Love it! The driver looks great, too. The oldschool grid pattern is very accurate. I had that all over my old karting suit. If they make a Lancia Stratos in the Airitalia livery, I will lose my mind.

  • @stuchly1

    weirdly, I didn't expect to see the A and B pillars on the lego version. You are right they were obvious on the real thing, but just in general, knowing how lego windscreens go, I think this is fair game and I wouldn't knock any points down for the way it looks. The C pillar/rear window section offsets that for being constructed and for not relying on printed bricks or stickers to represent the shape of the side window against the C pillar. That was a pleasant surprise for me which I didn't see coming just by looking at the thumbnail.

  • @legoferrari14
    @legoferrari14 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I personally added some 1x2 and 2x4 spacers underneath the wheels to give it that authentic lift-kit look for gravel and snow rallies. I also replaced the half-tiles and full-tiles that held the windscreen and roof with full studded plates just to give that extra rigidity.

      Definitely, the level of the build is greater. Though the rerelease of the Porsche mold does look nice. If only they could do something about the 2 seater issue. Seems like they got the idea right when it comes to the seating position. Only with those windows... Both the Audi and Ferrari suffer from issues putting the driver in. Which is odd since the area is huge. Yet the driver has to go in at a certain angle and the arms a certain way. It is funny.

    • @mbphilipblack8993
      @mbphilipblack8993 3 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @virgilthemob1242
    @virgilthemob1242 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The best part is that the Quattro was already boxy and bulky, so it's a natural fit for a Lego model. Not that they didn't do a great job with stuff like the Porsche, which is an awesome model imo.

  • @3Dsjk
    @3Dsjk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A tweak I would make is to try to move the seats and driver figures and controls back one stud inside the cockpit, along with building in a white B-pillar. In the real cars the driver and co-driver sit very far back for better weight distribution, almost comically so today, so I think the change would work well with this build.

    It would be great if they giving you in sets like this or the 40th years anniversary train giveaway a plastic dome to cover it up to give the feel of the premium even more.Also this would help not collecting dust as a collectible,since we talk over there for their collectible series for gown ups mostly.But give the plastic dome case inside the box not separately,though knowing from lego they would have sold those separately like the minifigure yellow cases for a small fortune!

    I actually did some add-ons and replacements for this set. I notice the black 6 x 8 piece with a 4 x 6 stud cutout below the specialized chassis piece has a bar attachment on it, so i thought 'what if i build a centre differential below the chassis' so i went ahead and replace some pieces with more secure ones and as i have finished developing it, the centre differential was like leveled with the ground clearance of the car and it still works (just because it's not a "4WD" without the centre differential built in, or else it would act like a front engine-front wheel drive), the roof and windshield pieces is originally only connected with 2 studs on the front of the cockpit so i replaced a 1 x 4 2-stud and a 2 x 2 2-stud plates with the old 1 x 4 and 2 x 2 plates to make the roof and windshield pieces stay on strong, in the cockpit: i lowered the car seats down by 1 brick thick just to have some "more space" with the minifigures and i replaced the antenna piece with a microphone piece and a black 1 x 1 stud with hole build on the cockpit and i placed a light gray 1 x 1 tile underneath the "E-brake" piece, and last of all: underneath the bonnet is a 2 x 4 light gray brick that i decided to build a V4 engine underneath the bonnet to replace that "waste of space" brick to give it some realistic features of this vehicle. Now I hope that information is helpful to you, Jang and try do some modifications as i did this year with another same exact set and one you have time, do a comparison with both of the two. : )

    I like your reviews, the honesty is where it's at. Then you gush over 80's rally and Group B - did we just become best friends?
    Even with the 2021 releases, I hold out hope for a Lancia Delta Integrale? Ford RS200? So many good options.

    By now this is the only new Speed Champions set that I am going to buy anyway. The rest of the cars are good too, but not to much.

    Here in my country, they are 18 euros. The smaller cars are about 13/15 depending on where you get them. I say pretty good quality for your money. As an adult, I feel these sets are right between kids/adults and offer a lot in terms of neat building and a link to reality. Of the 2 bigs ones being the Ferrari and this Audi that I have. The Audi wins. It just is more interesting to look at from different angles. The Ferarri is just that, a red and black sleek car. Somehow the way the yellow pops and perhaps it is nostalgia, it pleases more to the eye.
    Btw Jang you got me hooked on wasting money on Lego again after a decade! Your fault! Just kidding. Great videos, got me to appreciate the hobby again.

    This one is the best rendition of the wave. Amazing one!! Nostalgic much! Weee (I should add that if I could choose, Lego would go back to the 6-stud versions).

    i finally boght this because its among the Lego cars that I know that have two seats . 1st one that i know is a small comic con 66 batmobile and the 2nd being the 66 batman Lego set. That has the batmobile with two seats. I hope Lego makes more two seats cars in the future.

    As a *rally car,* I find it egregious of Lego to not include a second Minifigure as a codriver. I've ordered the parts for this figure off of their website to rectify the issue but it was still annoying.
