Hi guys and gals! Hope you enjoy my videos. If you want to help me out and support channel (which is demonatized because... TH-cam) - leave a tip on PayPal: www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=EELSMENC2RZUA No pressure though - just enjoy this stuff and have a good day!
In the 80s, I took my grandchildren to see Shandling at the Funny Room in West Mifflin, PA. He was taking a break from comedy and the show focused on his music. Gary played the harmonium and experimented with percussion. He had become a student of throat singing and had become quite good at it. My grandson Arthur openly wept. I think back fondly on the fun we had together that night, now that the kids are dead.
The beginning of that Bill Simmons segment makes me cringe. I don't kow who the guy is, but he keeps talking and interrupting. Oh my god. I'm Larry complaining to Artie by the monitor.
i mean the larry sanders show was something everyone could relate to because everyone watched talk shows. The garry shandling show broke rules...for the first time, which made it fascinating
I saw Shandling open up for Dennis Miller in ‘93(?). His complete opening “set” consisted of one story. I found it funny, but I may have been in the minority that night.
If you watch videos right around the time he died, you could tell by his florid color and labored breathing that something was not right. Hindsight, I know.

I remember Shandling from when I was a kid! I'm 52.

He was very dry, if I remember correctly. I also found him to be a hoot.

Hated the Garry Shandling Show.
The Larry Sanders Show, however, is the best show ever.
