I’m a retired Audi tech (50 years) from Canada 🇨🇦 and have been watching your channel this week and really enjoying and very much into racing ( crewed on a Formula Ford) I like the no bullshit . I just subscribed. Best in the new year.
Simply Lovely well done guys brilliant video thanks for the support and nice comments we do our best. I will get the boys Kurt and Jordan to put it on our page when we return to work to show the brilliant job you have done and what you can offer. Happy New Year love monsters Simon Nevlock
Another great video I love the time lapse’s and the editing is so good too each video is more and more enjoyable. Good work from everyone involved again.
Exactly that mate, some engines with wide water passages can crack when you start pushing some boost in there, not all engines need this. You can fit full wedges which are very strong as well as pegs.
I really like them they use a pressure pad instead of a spring so they stay calibrated for longer, also the fact the display show 6 different settings is good.. it has a gyroscope for angles so you can ratchet it if room is a problem.
@@graceenginedevelopments No, have to get all my machine work done before i assemble, 53 now, been at since about 12. Learning more with your vids pal, every days a learning day. Only 3 machine shops left in Swansea now.
@ Top ring 0.47mm Second ring 0.56mm Oil ring at least 0.60mm this is what I went for in the end after speaking to a company who make and build engines race and road in Holland give them all my specs etc
z20leh forged rebuild am not looking to take the van to big power just want it so it runs well and stays that way it has 12000 on it so will like it all done
All that money spent and he’s used those awful nevlock cams and that terrible rts clutch such a shame they’ll want changing after 1500 miles Top work on your behalf though
It's the first time we've used the cams, whats the issue with them? Have you used them before? And the clutch, what's the problem with that, mainly because we brought one for Sam's van which he is starting to build. Thanks
@@graceenginedevelopments James we have sold over 250 off those cams not had any issues shame the guy who posted it didn’t get a proper engine rebuilder to fit our cams. I have all the specifications of our camshafts which I am happy to share with you and you can check them against any of our competitors.
Theres been more than just 1 set damage the lifters probably about 25 now but they just get blocked from nevlock lol i got blocked and never even brought a thing from them 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Alex, I got nevlock to send me a cam to test on my camshaft machine, the cam isn't a drive way fit, the acceleration rate is high to be honest so a change of spring is a must, good quality followers as well.. but you shouldn't fit a modified part without inspection of other parts, the cam profile has been checked elsewhere as well.. I've spoken to my customer about this as he supplied all the parts and we've decided to test them in the car, nevlock know our plans and are supporting the test. I'm sorry to read this you've had problems with them, they have always been good with me. Thanks for watching and your feedback.

What do the wedges provide when installed in the block/water jacket? Is it a strengthening thing? When/why would it be beneficial to do such a task?

@@graceenginedevelopments Thanks for the explanation. Catch up soon pal.
I see you use a digital torque wrench. Are they better than the old click type. Thinking about upgrading to a digital but not sure which to go for.

This is a brilliant video mate thanks for sharing . Hope the cams werent an issue due to where it came from
Thanks mate. No we changed them

that looks amazing jus in process saving me up for rebuild wat would it cost me similar build
Hi I've just replied to you on Facebook messenger
When the caps were cleaned and sanded, were the bores checked? I'm sure you did or would have just didt see anywhere on vid.
Hi Richard, yes we check on all main and rod bores

quick question dont you have to put the cam sensor on first ?
No it tucks in
Great job again, what do you use in the ultrasonic bath to clean the main caps in the video.
Thanks Andy.. I can't remember the name.. I can send it tomorrow if that helps
@@graceenginedevelopments I would be curious a well: what liquid do you use in that ultrasonic bath?
@@windmill1965 hi, if you remind me on Saturday I'll get the name of the label for you
It's called heavy duty degreaser, made by ics UK ltd

How much to do a complete rebuild on a gsi z20let engine
It depends on what spec you are looking for
Mega work guys! did you stick with standard hydraulic lifters?
Thank you. Yes new std hydraulic INA make
Hi can you help I’m doing my first build on my Z20leh I’m stuck on piston ring gap 86.00 bore I’m at a gap for top ring 0.34 does this sound good
Yes of course, what make of piston is it
@ standard Astra h vxr
@davidfayers8733 I'd run it slightly bigger than that and the second ring approximately 0.002" bigger than the top
@ Top ring 0.47mm
Second ring 0.56mm
Oil ring at least 0.60mm this is what I went for in the end after speaking to a company who make and build engines race and road in Holland give them all my specs etc
Look good to you
How much do u do a rebuild for?
Hi.. it all depends on the spec. Do you know what you want?

Have you used them? I'll message the customer, I'd rather replace than have a problem, but need to know your feedback please
