Many blokes coming home from the war had deferred and demob pay and they bought army surplus Ford and Chev Blitz trucks and went into the transport business. Others bought General Lee or Grant tanks and put dozer blades on them and went into excavations etc. nice to see you getting this one going again. Well done fellas.
The old lift pumps have one way valves in them to help the pump do its job and keep,it primed. Could be why the leccy pump did not push it past the pump.

I learned to break them down from an old W.W. 2 tire mechanic, Dave Arnson Everwear Tire Products, Los Angeles. He is long gone but his teachings live on in me. It's not much but for a shade tree mechanic, having changed about 80 of those rims and tires, I think that's pretty good.

The safest way to inflate split rim wheel tyres is inside a cage to contain the ring should it blow apart, the alternative may be deadly to the person inflating the tyre.

pumping up tyres, put the ring on the down side. That way if ring blows it just hits ground and bumps up tyre
