It usually takes hours and days to get a Mechanical Machine, or part of one, precise and with incredible tolerance. So I believe that Apple’s AR Glasses, or AR Glasses in general, could help me improve my 3D printing skills. With them, I can see my 3D Models in real life, scale them up if needed, and plan ahead of time to hopefully turn those wasted hours of tinkering and tweaking into just mere minutes. Some hopes that I have for these glasses are that they are clip-on. Basically a separate device FOR the glasses would clip onto your already-existing glasses. That way they could be CHEAPER than cheap.

Societies are becoming more connected through technology and more disconnected in the physical reality. That can't be a good direction for us. Become addicted at your own peril. When you mentioned that the glasses have a Lidar, I remember rumors that Appel will enter the car industry. Is this the same Lidar that can be used in a self-driving car? or are they two different Lidar technologies?
Lidar is usually the same, sending out rays of light and then receiving them to understand the world around them. However other companies like tesla do not use lidar, and just understand images the same way a human does.
But Apple won’t enter the car industry. Might. Keywords. Also, AFAIK, Apple won’t Make a car. But a user interface of their own other car brands can use in their cars’ infotainment system.

If they use your phone as a hotspot, you won’t have Internet to you glasses unless your phone is with you. So teachers will collect phones before classes. Or, students will be required to wear radio frequency blocking wristbands. These already exists and would prevent your devices from accessing the internet. Lots of ways to prevent cheating

In a few years I can go down a street and see every person walking along in the shape of dinosaurs and the guy next to is seeing the street underwater and people as fish. stupid examples but it’s just to show how reality is going to be even more subjective. It’s painful to see these so called internet tech gurus on TH-cam talking about the iPhone 12 pro and dismissing LIDAR as a stupid extra feature that you don’t need. They don’t get it, this is paradigm shift technology. And when this becomes a contact lens.... brace for impact.

@@adrianof3663 There's plenty of evidence how all this tech is impacting our mental health and dehumanising the human experience. Societies are becoming more connected through technology and more disconnected in the physical reality. That can't be a good direction for us. Become addicted at your own peril. Besides this is very narrow channel innovating. Apple is not a company that's innovating but incrementally optimising advanced manufacturing. If they wanted to be an innovation business they would have a physics and applied physics departments.

When you mentioned that the glasses have a Lidar, I remember rumors that Appel will enter the car industry. Is this the same Lidar that can be used in a self-driving car? or are they two different Lidar technologies?
Lidar is usually the same, sending out rays of light and then receiving them to understand the world around them.
However other companies like tesla do not use lidar, and just understand images the same way a human does.
But Apple won’t enter the car industry. Might. Keywords. Also, AFAIK, Apple won’t Make a car. But a user interface of their own other car brands can use in their cars’ infotainment system.

It is not the same sensor however. In a potential car it has to be build for that pupose specifically. The prossessing and programming after that is something completely different. The tech is still the same.

If they use your phone as a hotspot, you won’t have Internet to you glasses unless your phone is with you. So teachers will collect phones before classes. Or, students will be required to wear radio frequency blocking wristbands. These already exists and would prevent your devices from accessing the internet. Lots of ways to prevent cheating

@@danielmorais8754 Nothing bad would come out of this besides something like rebranded version that record you. Lidar cant be hacked to check recordings as thats now how it works and the glasses don’t come with microphones as it goes off gestures.

They should use the apple watch to navigate by swiping up/down, that would make the controls simple yet easier. It would be cool to sync it to your watch. If you don't have the apple watch simply use your phone for navigation.
