What month was your visit? I am struggling to decide whether to do the mara or the serengeti- thinking of late august for serengeti and possibly oct to mara. How bad were the crowds? did you think the serengeti was actually worth the price? Woudl really appreciate your advice....
I really love your honesty in the videos- i find them a lot more helpful for trip planning ideas than the typical flashy youtubers.
Our visit was towards the end of September. Please do extensive migration research on your own, but this is what we found by visiting the whole area. End of July to mid August the animals migrate from Serenity to Masai Mara, in October they move back to Serenity. There is huge difference for the ability to get close to the animals, Serengeti is huge with only few very bad roads, and in our opinion is way overrated and over pouch. On game drives the vehicles are not allowed to go off-road, you see what you can from the road and what is around the camp. If I’m planning a safari this will be my choice. Around August 10th flight from Nairobi to the Masai Mara, book a lodge for 4-5 full days inside the Mara triangle, book morning and evening game drives with the lodge, their guides know the area best. After that fight back to Nairobi and back home. See our Epic safari video. The most important thing is to be at the rite place at the rite time. Also the location of the lodge is very important. Have a good trip, do you research, safaris are expensive and you should try to have an unforgettable experience.

Mid September. We were disapointed with Tanzania. No branch roads to get close to the animals. For a great safari check our Massai Mara video, July and August are the best. If I am planing a safari now I will fly from Nairobi to Massai Mara for a 4-5 days in the end of July.

@@bztravel After doing a lot of reading, we decided to stick to Kenya for our June trip. I am hoping Masai Mara wouldn't disappoint us.
Mid September. Serengeti is huge and there is so little you can see from the main road. Before you go, look at Google map the roads around the camp.
@@street_biologist6727 Birds are around all the time, for birdwatching Lake Nakuru was the best for us. In Maasai Mara, stay close to or inside the Mara Triangle and you will not be disappointed.
