Not exactly. Apparently he was quite young when he came to stay with his grandma after his parents died. So my guess is around 5-10 years old maybe??

@@Ko_paranj makes sense. what makes less sense is the writers telling us he would be aware of his sexuality at that young age and gets scolded for it during a church visit by relatives. who would traumatize a young kid that age for 'acting gay'?

@@embreis2257 remember when his aunt came down to visit him? Yeah she mentioned alot how Gav used to play with girls and their dolls, how he was exhibiting behaviours that she deemed to be 'gay-ish'. So I'm not surprised if he received back-handed comments about his 'behaviour' growing up with his aunts. If its traumatising enough for a child, it doesnt matter how old they have to be tho.
