    Apex makes the Duratech, not great star,sorry for the miscue!!!

      Apex makes Sata. Duratech is owned by GreatStar. Regardless, I always love your channel. Those Ares ratchets are fantastic for the price. Those K-Tool look nice. Been debating on getting them myself, but I have SOOO many lol

      Hmmm, I was sure Duratech was part of great star

      Apex owns SATA and Gearwrench, among others. Great Star owns Duratrash and SK.

      Greatstar owns Duratech and Workpro. I'm still pissed about SK selling out to them. For now, SK is still making their USA line of tools here. They just moved the factory to Pennsylvania. But it's hard to say how long they'll keep it up. They did the same thing with Craftsman, and now 99% of that is made in China, and it is garbage compared to what it used to be. I will not buy Greatstar tools if at all possible. Most of their profit goes to fund the Chinese communist party.

    I use the adapter on a drill to start small motors So I could try starting the motor without putting the recoil back on

    Excellent selection of affordable tools. The wrench extender also works great for tightening up and loosening the handles on a vice.

    Always great to have budget ideas for those getting into the field or the DIYers! Ive had great success with my capri impacts and the wheel nut packs look like a great idea as well!

    Those Sata ratchets look very similar to the Husky ratchets sold here in Canada but with soft grip. In Canada we also have a clone Gearwrench ratchet sold at Canadian Tire under the Maximum name brand. It's made in China and all chrome with no quick release. I think all these ratchets are made by Gearwrench in their Chinese factories.

    Lots of "good" tools out there for restricted budgets. I found K Tool has some durable ratchets and sockets. I picked up a double set of those long cutters a few months ago for about $17, a phenomenal deal. Got that Sata set in my road pack, they are great ratchets. Ide love to put together a starter set of tools for a new tech in school. A budget challenge type thing.

    Apex branded tools (Gearwrench, Duralast and SATA) are a great bang for the buck. The K-Tool screwdrivers are great and feel quite similar to the old Snap-on design. It was down to 4 degrees here in CT overnight. Been hugging the pellet stove! It's going to be a cold trip to the dump with no heat in the truck today. Stay warm my friend!

    Your right Jeff, China can make excellent quality tools etc. Unfortunately all these tools companies go to China to get the lowest possible price. Low price equals low quality.

    I just picked up the new Icon long cutters the other day. I almost bought those Titan ones, but after reading all the bad reviews, I held off, and I'm glad I did because the Icon pair is really good. They're about $15 more, but I'm glad I got them instead. I've been too disappointed in ordering Chinese made tools over the years, especially from Amazon and Ebay. I do need more locking extensions, and have been looking at the Tekton ones. I've kinda been holding out to see if Icon release any. But the cheap Pittsburgh I've got are actually holing up fairly well.

    Ratcheting adapters are also good to use with fixed anvil torque wrenches. I have a 3/4” drive Gedore Dremometer and a Rahsol ratcheting adapter. Good for 560 lbs-ft. The adapter only ratchets to the left, no reverse, but the teeth are angled as a result, which I believe increases the strength of the teeth, or something.
    Have you used that Wen ratchet wrench set much?

    What is your opinion on Gearwrench, Tekton and Capri tools? I can’t afford Snap On.

    • @ToolinAroundTools
      @ToolinAroundTools ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Those are generally good, Gearwrench apparently makes a couple really good ratchets, the sockets and stuff I would get Tekton, I have their locking extensions which I like. Nothing wrong with Capri either. You definitely don’t need Snap-On.

    • @BlakeInJC
      @BlakeInJC 53 นาทีที่ผ่านมา +1

      It’s highly doubtful you actually need snap on. They will last 100 years of use but you don’t need that. Tekton has best no hassle fast warrantee. Website and support. Ratchets are strong. Wrenches good. I really like trilob screwdrivers. I’ve never broke a ratchet but you can buy an extra ratchet repair kit just in case. Only things I don’t like about Tekton is markings. And breaker bars are weak but warranted! Shop around. Those brands are good. Try harbor freight when they have a 30% sale. Jeff has other brands so watch his videos.

    • @BlakeInJC
      @BlakeInJC 46 นาทีที่ผ่านมา +1

      And the Tekton pliers are very good bang for buck USA mainly. Though if you can afford Knippex I’d highly recommend the cobra expanding pipe pliers above all-they will bite into anything and not give.

    Sata is not a part of GreatStar. Sata is part of Apex tool group, same as Gearwrench. It is like a junior GW, not a clone. You can actually find old USA made Sata tools, like torque wrench

  • @GainingDespair
    @GainingDespair 4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

    Yeah, I think anyone can make good tools including China. China is just known for making stuff at the lowest possible price, and the folks who want products manufactured for cheap tend to be the same ones willing to cut corners on quality.
    I just think its an economic situation, products in the US are not always the best of the best. Our US made washing machine failed twice within a year and at 1.5 years broke completely without warranty. I just think when people are willing to make products in less affordable countries you by process of elimitation remove a lot of the people who are willing to cut corners to save a little.
