Revox sounds very close to reel to reel 2 track recorder.
As far as I have recognized, Nacamichi has bright sound and some mid-high boost.
Revox has more transient and flat and detailed sound in mid-high, high-end frequencies.
As a result Revox provides impression of more professional sound.

Well, the schematic is available. I do not think there is something extra, maybe reduced a bit bass response gives that feeling.

@@hifirulezzz yes i got this impression because the midrange sounded a bit compressed, and thus it was standing out more.
Anyway, the 680zx sounds amazing to my ears.

Use a quality master, make recordings on each recorder and compare them audibly at least. The B710 was manufactured for studio use for consistency in reproduction. Nakamichi is made with plastic cogs and gears and controls to tweak the sound. No two tapes would ever sound the same.

Как вы думаете, какой процессор был в 1979 году? И это Ревоксу еще повезло. У 680 вообще все на логике. Делали задержку чтобы все устаканилось после включения.

You just should check all 900 videos on my channel :) There are multiple comparisons. Dragon is cool but not so live. 1000zxl, 700zxl, and 680zx are the same generation models and the sound is very close. But the problem is to find one with good heads. People were paying high $$$ not to put it on a shelve. I replaced the head in mine to get factory specs.

Compared to the Revox the Nakamichi sounds muffled. --- Until today I argued with myself to buy a Nakamichi, but now I will never do that. Compared to the sound quality the Nakamichis are far too expensive.

Привет 👋, я слушал в наушниках, оба аппарата играют очень красиво но каждый из них по своему!
reVox насыщенный звук, детальней, но Nakamichi приятнее звучит , мягче и не напористый, середина просто бомба, голос звучит намного натуральнее! Это моё мнение 🤷🏼

@@user-hq6xw6db7h Так живьём и я слушал, правда Штудер 710, но это по сути одно и то же, что и этот Ревокс, механика у него просто более сложная, (режимы еще на эл.магнитах, что грубее), но это не значит, что лучше, у Нака она более мягкая, и нежнее к ленте, так как режимы уже на сервомоторе, 680, это второе поколение Накамичи, отмечу, что именно во втором поколении применена одна из лучших механик ЛПМ среди кассетных дек.

Technics always was saving on the components. I do not trust them. All decks I had and fixed had a very flat sound. On my mind even Aiwa sounds better than Technics.

I've never heard any Deck of Nakamichi, but I belive in there frequency response is like CD's on every recordnig level. A joke .

@@kancelariaprawnaziobroston6613 oh, you may be surprised, my tests show that 680zx for example has a very flat response up to -4 dB. At 0 db level no single deck can have flat response.

Revox B710 The best cassette deck ever made designed by Willi Studer, I bought this device in 1982, 4 motors two of which are capstan motors and very important no belts! Replaced all capacitors, trimmers and transistors a year ago and then have it adjusted and measured at revox in Germany. After 40 years I still enjoy my revox, after 40 years all parts still available! Someone has offered 2400 euros for this device, but i'm not selling it. In Europe a much sought-after device for connoisseurs. The best sound and stability Revox is known for that, much better than Technics RS-B965!
