How to Lipsync and animate in iClone8 with Acculips and face puppet - Practical Demonstration.

  • In this video I show my process from start to end for a simple episode with attention paid to lipsyncing.
    I use iClone for all of my Elite Dangerous episodes, historically iClone did between a pigs ear and a moderate job of lip syncing so I'd have to correct the Visemes it applied, but Acculips is fantastic.
    This 'how to' episode talks though the steps needed to get it working for your project by explaining from the character's point of view what is being done.
    You should see the character come to life just by following a few simple steps.
    I find this process works for me, and hopefully you'll get something out of it too. Other processes are available I'm sure and I don't proclaim to be an expert on this. But given how steep a learning curve iClone has sometimes, a small step up can be helpful.
    Following on from this video is an actual episode called "The Collision Event" which I'll link here when it's live.

    Absolutely awesome workflow demonstration!!! As an almost daily user of Iclone and Character Creator for the last 5 years I can say this is great for us all users!!! Thanks!... *FUN🤗*

      Thanks matey. I've been using iClone for about the same time. I've seen it go from strength to strength. Newer features like acculips make things so much easier. I didn't have to edit the results at all in this or the follow on episode I made.. which you should also check out. 😉

    Great video that program looks amazing! Knew a lot of time and work went into these videos great to see the process. Curious what kind of computer you're using for this? Hopefully not a HAL model lol Can't get over how much the animation reminds me of those robots out of Japan.

      Thanks. My machine is a 6 year old i7 with 64gb ram and a RTX 2080 super. Not a super computer by any standards. It plays games well enough. I've been asked to demo my process in the past, so I put this together. I'm hoping it's helpful.

    Absolutely fascinating!
    Thank you so much!
    Are the models themselves (sets and characters) ripped from the game files somehow?

    • @CommanderAscorbius
      @CommanderAscorbius  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nothing is ripped from game files. That would be against the TOS. We do use a program called RenderDoc to capture geometry sent to the video card and then painstakingly reassemble the textures, bump maps etc. The characters are all Daz studio or Character Creator models with clothing that has been retextured to look like an Elite flight suit. So the sets are the equivalent of a screenshot, but for geometry but with a lit of extra processing to get them into a format we can use. I hope this helps. 😉

    Did you have to make all the character and cockpit models from scratch?

    • @CommanderAscorbius
      @CommanderAscorbius  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Cockpit models were obtained using RenderDoc (geometry screenshot), Ascorbius model was made in Resolution Character Creator, using a similar flight suit which was then textured and bump mapped. Hope this helps.
