Nice video Mike. All these new trains for south east Wales. Best just old stock for South West Wales and the Heart Of Wales lines.. Enjoyable watching. Kind regards C&A
Nice to see TfW getting their Flirts; we're had them over here in East Anglia for 3+ years now. Those Cl.231 look like the Greater Anglia Cl.755/4's - although for some reason GA only have 1 door per car! Surprised you didn't record the sliding steps under the doors whilst at the stations, Mike. Odd that TfW's livery is very *VERY* similar to Greater Anglia's (GA had it 3 years before TfW), and even the Cl.231 seats look like the Cl. 755's ;)
Nice to finally see new trains instead of them tired old sprinters. The line speed between Cardiff central and grangetown and Cardiff central to queen street is painfully slow. I caught a train few weeks ago and experienced it
Those trains are a serious upgrade to the Valley Lines, as is that 67 powered Holyhead service. Good to see. Pity I'll never benefit from them, as now I live in Suffolk!
Thanks for that Mike, I did'n know they were in already revenue service. The automatic announcements are a bit stilted and could be much improved. That jingle will soon get on my nerves, why do modern trains have to have so much added noise, at least in the 153's the engine noise masked it! I'll have to take a trip up to Rhumney this week now and try the 231 for myself
I have to point out that quite a few staff were being trained, as you can see it was almost empty on a quiet Friday morning. So announcements by staff were overriding auto systems. I was much better on the later train
A very disappointing video. Expected a proper tour of the new Flirts and what do I get but boring views of stations and scenery I've seen a thousand times before!
What are you expecting? The title doesn't mention its a video showing you around the interiors, so your expectations are just delusional. If you don't like the video, just shut up, dislike, and move along. There's nothing wrong with the video itself. You haven't even watched the whole video either, clearly.
I'm really happy they kept the 175 chime, it's honestly the best chime on any british transport!
Much better than 2 coaches Milford Haven to Manchester and standing room only,,,

The 150s might be 30 years old but well maintained and still fit for service.
awsome.... cant wait to go from llanishen to penarth !!

It was my 1st time, so didn't spot everything happening, sorry
They are a HUGE improvement for Wales over the 142/150 for sure
Gotta say, I find it bewildering why heritage associations are spending their scarce resources on preserving such awful trains as the Pacers!
ATW had the 142 forced on them by Westminster. Given the choice the 143 would have been used but never the 142.
Looks a big improvement

The Penarth branch has now been completely relaid. It used to be called 'going down the stairs' to Penarth. Thankfully no longer.
Ive been on every piece stock TfW owns(everything since 1996 when it was Wales& West) ...except these
They look good..
Have a look on Realtime Trains for their detailed movements. You could do 4 in one day

Just keep watching my videos. I'm off out again today.

@@TheMichaelWilcock2016Railways Good to hear that, when are they in regular service on this line?
They're not going to be ! Just cover for other old stocks failures
A new train of that size almost empty put it on the Carmarthen to Manchester service and it will be full
They're being brought in early to cover the 769s which keep failing on the Valley lines
I understand that but the Manchester ones don't fail they are just two small so just switch them over or is that to complicated for the Welsh assembly
We now have a 67 on the m/c route
similar to the east anglian ones.
Trouble is they can’t do long runs - no toilets!
Morning. At 19.16, that's the toilet, I know because " I was there " and Christened it !

I have over 6K subscribers, you have 2. Thanks for watching
