Played this game a lot today and it was such a refresher. I’ve always wanted an Assassin’s Creed game set in Feudal Japan and this is close enough. The setting, story, and the graphics are all incredible and extremely immersive.

Nup33 420 Ubisoft would probably make it so that your samurai can kick someone 90 feet back, or turn invisible in stealth, or even allow you to change your horse into a unicorn😂
Don't neglect the stone stance piercing strike! Parry, stagger or dodge, hold triangle for one second and go straight for the heart. You can do two stabs when leveling up the skill. I'm loving this game. It's a slow start but there's such a lot to take in and once you've got a handle on the combat it's a joy to play.
Funny bc I said to myself this morning " today after work, you're gonna stab the shit out of some guys using the stone stance!" I forget I can use the whole environment in combat too, some bad guys chased me to a rooftop where we had a pretty sweet battle.
I feel like the combat mechanics of games are being overshadowed by graphics these days especially in fps. Graphics are cool, but its really refreshing to actually learn a brand new combat mechanic in a game.

Great graphics, good soundtrack, mediocre gameplay (The boring ass formulaic gameplay of Naughty Dog), poor to medicore characters and awful story. The only thing that i got out of my 60$ was eye candy and good soundtrack.
I like how you flow with the gameplay and not rush anything. Not like others who seem to ruin the experience by doing clumsy movements. I enjoy watching people piece together all elements that a game offers.
I'm calling it, ubisoft will make a feudal japan game after seeing this. They may even try to use the concept for suckerpunch's next game too. Just speculation.

GoT doesn’t have social stealth or complex parkour, two of the core gameplay pillars of AC. Valhalla is only missing the parkour. Not to mention that GoT has nothing to do with Assassins or their Creed, but Valhalla will.

The parkour in Odyssey is a joke compared to earlier games, you can climb thru clean no edges marble statues, like what are you even holding on to? not to mention pointless, non of the cities (athens, sparta etc) call on parkour to navigate. Odyssey also has fck all to do with assassins or their creed, all the focus seems to be on some sort of rpg/mmo, with the way you grind gear and levels. This game is more AC than we've had in years.
adam power Valhalla has Assassin iconography, social stealth, Assassin vs. Templar conflict, a present day story line including the old school present day characters, the Creed, AC philosophy, memory corridor confessions, the Animus, etc etc. GoT has zero of these things, yet is somehow more AC than Valhalla?

Assassin's Creed series (didn't play Odyssey, but I guess it's more of the same) is the pinnacle of superficial gameplay. Stealth is shallow, combat mechanics are shallow, plateforming elements are shallow. I hope this game is NOT like AC, because that would mean one thing about its gameplay...
Literally all i want now, is a mode where you can simply just oneshot enemies nonmatter what. That would TRULY make me feel like the most powerful Samurai in the Land.
Not only the visuals are amazing but also the combat system, but there's room to be improve though especially on stealth. I wish there's a way to pick up bodies, can go through closed windows, can create simple traps similar to that toxic wind chimes and a very clear choice either go full stealth shinobi or full head-on samurai.

Samurai and Assassin’s creed doesn’t really work as a sentence. Samurais are honorable warrior who fight head on, Ninjas are more likely to sneak up on people and kill them.
Use rolling dodge too much seems not beautiful. I prefer slide dodge you can do it with only one push the X button, and it's enough to dodge enemy's attack.

Feels strange hearing English, I've been playing in Japanese from the start, it really adds to the overall authentic experience.
