Finally some footage of how the game is MEANT to be played. So many combat videos show people just sprinting from enemy to enemy spamming kunai, sprint attacks, spam rolling all over the place, never using ripostes, never switching stances and just showing no control whatsoever over Jin. So many people just aggressively spam out movements and attacks which is constantly cancelling animations. You take your time in combat and actually let animations finish.

This is how I like to play. Controlling the stances and not rushing the combat. It just looks more realistic and baddass. After a year of having this game I am still in my first playthrough. I try not to rush and appreciate the game fully. It´s such a masterpiece. I never use my ghost abilities during combat and just walk into enemy camps. In my opinion it is a more immersive experience.
I play most of the game with stealth, not raising an alarm and remaining in the shadows but i enjoy going sword to sword and killing enemies slowly. The dodge/parry you have is pretty amazing.
Ik this is 1 year ago comment but I usually do both as of now (did not beat the game yet) Whenever im with some side characters i would mostly go to my ghost side of things (stealth killing and becoming a coward was nessesary for the sake of tsushima) and then whenever im with lord shimura and other samurais i usually hide my ghost side and fight with honor When yuna said to bend my honor, it wasn't that bad Was able to have fun with doing stand-offs and stealth

Duuuude this is some sick shit, truly showcasing the spirit of a Samurai. I bought GoT last night and I’m about to play it. I’ve watched plenty of tips videos and such and hands down this is the best combat I’ve seen, better than trailers or other TH-camrs. Could watch you for hours man!
Im currently playing this game for the first time and so far Im absolutely loving it. I keep finding myself wandering completely out of the way just to find a fight and explore

For some reason I never got the hang of the perfect dodging. It never even occurred to me to dodge backwards either. I always went to the sides,then countered. I guess my brain thought if I dodge backwards and then try to strike,the spear will still get me. I was a boss at perfect parry though. Plus it looks dope.

I finished the game 2x already on hard and lethal mode. For me personally The most challenging group of enemies here are the straw hat ronins (sword fight only no ghost weapons involve) Anyone agree?
Ronins are the most fun to fight. But overall i don't think there is a hard enemy, i would say the only one i had some hard time fighting was the khan 1v1 duel
I swear to god this game really felt like you were jin. It just feels so good to kill them one by one with every counter and just go directly to a stance as if passively taunting them like you're really the legend that they've been hearing about. The combat mechanics they made is seriously badass as fuck. ROBBED.

Expert HUD hides a few notifications in combat and stealth. For instance, you can't see who's spotting you in stealth any more. (Though enemies will still go "Huh?" so you get a chance to hide)

Dude combat skills can’t be ignored, but this is obviously on a lower difficulty you can tell by how enemies are standing around.On lethal I found out the hard way that they swarm you like a pack of wolves and it’s much more difficult to flex and be flashy when you have 5 to 10 mongols trying to cut you to shreds while 2 to 4 archers are shooting arrows at you in the background.....#ihateDOSHO
Does it ever get to the point, whether through progression or difficulty level, where it's not road crew mentality? (Ie, 3 stand around while 1 does the work). Every vid I've seen so far has one enemy attack at a time while 2-3 others stand around
I'm playing through on lethal and have not experienced this at all. They are constantly ganging up on you and you have to position yourself so that you don't get stabbed in the back while engaging an enemy. Perhaps they only fight one at a time on the easier difficulties
The visuals are stunning, but the combat looks oddly slow and not very challenging. Maybe Sekiro just ruined other games for me, but I would prolly appreciate if enemies moved at speeds that don't make me laugh at them xD. It also seems that larger groups of enemies just outright take it chill. They form orderly line and fight you 1v1 until you run out of enemies, which makes the game look like it's strongly catering to very casual players all the more.
I destroyed this game on so many levels. If you want a more fluid fight always eliminate the archers first then go melee god mode on the rest of the enemies.
I can go from perfect parry to perfect parry on nearly every enemy in the game. I can jump the brutes sweeps, spear guy sweeps, stay aggressive w/shieldmen, parry Ronin into oblivion....but that fucking poke from the spear guys. I cannot get the timing of that shit to save my life.
I guess I have the automatic block as long as I'm attacking.. I never get hit with the spear.. I'm still at the beginning of act 2 just been exploring and fighting.. I've gotten extremely skilled in the combat I've mastered switching stances quickly and fluently once I unlock all the abilities this game may be too easy by the end
God the spearman are annoying af in the legends mode 😭 I’ll be parrying and dodging blocks from like 10 enemies just for a spearman to poke me and I’ll die
