We been doing the same (except we do our own shopping ) thing with all packages and groceries that we buy. We pull up to the garage where we have a « staging area » there’s a contaminated area and the clean area. Every can , container, and box gets disinfected and put into the clean area. All the veg gets washed, put into new containers. It’s annoying and takes a long time but it’s worth it to me to have peace of mind. I know a lot of people don’t believe this virus is real and don’t bother with all this and that’s their prerogative . I’m sure some of the people that are fighting for their lives or have lost the fight ( and their families) believe it’s real

I've always had a no shoe policy in the house and yeah.... another thing that is not easy when lugging shopping around 😭.
Today's the first episode back in the studio. I wish they stayed at home!! Either there i the mountains or at her home in NYC. Sure they got loveseats which make it seem cozier but... Ummm, No! SO not the same! And then they go and ruin it completely by making people cover their airways with those disgustingly filthy masks!! Two thumbs DOWN👎👎

Pamela Lopez , yes and I wipe down bottles, condiments, also clean my refrigerator with Hot soapy (dawn) water with a cap full of bleach, then dry! Gets everything supper clean!
Thank you! Yes, it’s such a process, and it takes forever. But, it does greatly minimize the possibility of transferring the virus; it’s crazy contagious! BTW, I know I’m not alone in saying how stressful all this “ together” time is with spouse!! It’s very hard to be extra patient, but I know it’s the right thing to do.

Maybe its just me but I don't understand leaving fresh food, even though in containers, on the same space where you are cleaning what u think might be contaminated packaging, etc. I would make the areas separate.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one doing this I do the same thing now I just bought my UVC light that I'll drag across instead of using cleaner but of course If I get scared needs cleaner anyway

I think using wipes is more convenient than spray but I can't find them anywhere. I found a homemade wipe recipe with rubbing alcohol, warm water, and a little dish soap then soak my paper towels in it. I then wipe off my groceries on one side of the table and move them the other side to air dry then put away. With produce, I will wipe down the outside of the package but I don't wash until ready to use. Honestly, I will probably continue to do this even after this all ends. I am a bit of a germaphobe and I always considered shopping carts and conveyor belts to be germy. Then we have cold and flu season to contend with.
OMG!!! Ridiculous I have been grocery shopping at least twice to three times a month no mask on go to the store no gloves on the only thing I've done is wipe down the handle of the shopping cart. Bag my own groceries bring them home and put them away no cleaning no rubber gloves and I have had no issues. I am not going to wash my groceries as I bring them in the house!!!
The authorities here in Norway has said the chances of being infected via groceries, are very, very slim, so they think it is not necessary to sanitize groceries. They have asked ppl not to touch goods they are not buying though.
We have a bucket of fresh water and a little bleach. We take a cloth and wipe down all food packages and put in clean section on counter. We drop our veggies and fruits in the water just like you. What a pain but it needs to be done.

Easier just to spray all the groceries on all sides, no towel. Has to sit for 5 mins though to sanitize before safe. Use ammonia or weak bleach solution. I haven't seen Fantastik on the approved list of cleaners for Covid-19. Be sure to then wash your hands for 2 birthday songs after all handling.

This is what I do also. I spray my bleach water solution on everything and wipe it down. Then I sit it on another disinfected station to dry. Then I put it away. I would rather be safe than sorry.
Absolutely agreed! And although the chances of getting infected from groceries are very slim, it is always best practices to be aware that most of the groceries we buy have been touched by so many people (farmers, machines used by farmers/pickers, transport staff, produce stock person, customers, then us). Covid19 or no covid19, it is always best practices to clean, wash, and store our groceries the best way possible because we put these food in our bodies and rely on its nourishments. What we put in our bodies becomes one with us. Taking extra precautions doesn't hurt anyone. This is always by choice. Taking time to get to know what we put in our bodies is the greatest investment we can benefit from for the remainder of our lives.
