Well why shouldn’t we sympathize with him? Nothing excuses him for committing murder but he has had a rough life so I think we should sympathize him for that.

Or if the writers had a backbone they'd Tell Sam his mom died because of him, he insisted his mom wear a specific costume and Leanne bought the same one, Harvey overheard and shot the first person he saw wearing the outfit so Sam's mom died because no one could summon the backbone to say no. Sam's mom died because of Sam that's the Truth
