Depends on driver skill. For instance the Nissan R92, Minolta Toyota, and the Sauber C9 group C cars are blazing fast, but extremely difficult to drive. Once mastered they're unbeatable imo.

I saw a Demorun from the R10 TDI on Norisring. Never saw a Car so fast and so silent. It was impressive. But I agree. Motorsport need loud noise 😎

No, these are the forerunner to that category. Current class is Hypercar/LMDH, these are LMP1 which ended a couple years back.
